correct Tomme. I don't think people pay enough attention to the wall angle of their lube grooves when they have a mold cut. they also have a tendency to put too much lube groove in them. especially a single groove boolit.

it will burn dirty. I would be concerned if it cleaned up because your starting to push 45+K at that point. if you can get the powder up near the base of the bullet I think you might end up with a decent BP type load. I know 4831 will shoot...

the original lube groove for the XCB was just that one groove it was never supposed to be a large one. the idea was to give about 68-% drive band length after set back from firing. the area above the gas check was also supposed to be a bit taller...

Remington has been putting throat in their barrels more like marlins old lever guns than anything approaching saami specs. if you had a true saami spec throat the rcbs 30-165 silhouette bullet with 17-18grs of 2400 is real hard to beat if you...

if nothing else you found out that a proper .358 diameter bullet won't leave lead deposits behind in your Taurus. but an undersized hard cast one will.

pressure on the antimony alloys will act differently than pressure on the tin alloys. both internally and externally. antimony crystals will break down under pressure and allow the alloy to flow easier. that is why it is used in extruded lead...
