In my limited experience I've found that keeping the pivot and bearings clean and patience work for very small differences; trickling up by one or two kernels.

I had a similar experience recently. I was processing some brass and I had about 100 sized 45 ACP cases in a bowl on my bench. I was running them through my M die with about another 100 loose on the bench. I reached for a couple unprocessed cases...

Along with my Mystery Metal I do mark the ingots. I often use a 1/2" cold chisel; WW for wheel weight, R for range scrap, etc.. Those unmarked are my general casting alloy. Unknown scrap, or ?? alloy goes into a 5 gal bucket for "smelting" and BHN...

My first thought was the same. I have a lot of my "Mystery Metal" composed of scrap, range lead and several pounds of ???. I checked my BHN with a Lee tester and it comes out to 12-13 and works great in all my handguns (9mm, 38 Spec., 357 Mag., 44...

Before I started using a tumbler and when I wanted some "BBQ"ammo, I used a tapered hardwood dowel chucked in a drill. Just push the case on the dowel and it stays tight. I used 000 steel wool with Pledge then wiped with a clean rag to make sure all...

I've got a little experience reloading balls in revolver cartridges. I don't size the balls as there is so little contact with the barrel they fit pretty good and shoot with no leading. I rolled the balls in alox, allowed to dry then seated to just...

I do not have a problem with case-in-a-case mishap nor grey colored brass because the second step (after picking up my brass) is inspection. Also I've never had a problem with 45 ACP small primed brass and rarely find a 380 with my 9mm, because I...

I only used my "spline" lock nut a few times. I didn't use the special wrench. One mistake many reloaders make is they believe the Lee lock nuts need to be tight, as in a 18" box wrench tight. I've worked many, many years with nuts, bolts, etc, and...

Several years ago, I read, somewhere (?), during a powder research is that gunpowder manufacturers hold a 4% variation of powder characteristics from a "standard", lot to lot. So Unique made in 2020 should be within 4% of the Unique made in 1960...

The "hard carbon" fouling has me puzzled. I've been using Unique for many, many years and under PCed bullets for several. I used it under some PCed Lachmiller 160 gr. SWCs with a near max load of Unique in my 4" 357 Magnum, and had no fouling...

Pure lead? How much was left in the barrel? One of my house gun loads is a "normal" hardness cast full wadcutter (mebbe 11-12 BHN) over a max, not +P, load of W231, which gives me just under 900 fps out of my 3" 38. I don't think I'm under gunned...
