you can resize your 459 bullet but you have to do it in steps. i paperpatch a 50 cal. my swaging die is .50. i then reduce to .498, then to 495, then to .491. i use case lube on the bullets. it may seem like a lot of work and steps but it isnt...

I shortened a 32 inch 45 slug rifle side lock to 26 inches. Shot just as accurate. Shot 6 deer with it to 150 yards. Sold it to a Florida shooter who shoot pigs with it. I would run a 400 grain lubed bullet through the cut off piece of barrel to...

The most important thing is to slug the barrel and see what diam. It is as it may be 458 or even 462 or larger. Get a bullet to match to the diam of the barrel and don’t make it too hard. Then you can shoot the gun with very very good accuracy....

T7 is a very accurate powder but clean up isn’t near as good as 209 powder. 209 powder is a very very accurate powder. stay away from pyrodex. will rust your gun out faster than any thing out their. if you use pyrodex in a 45/70 cartridge or...

Black horn 209 is all i ever use in both my muzzle loaders and my 45/70. Never have to wipe between rounds, very very accurate. I shoot paperpatch bullets in my 45/70 and use the same and sabots in my muzzle loader. If I wasn’t using black horn 209...

I sort of use one. I have a 32 side lock.down goes the powder in the barrel. Then a 60 thousand fiber wad. Then a felt wad. Then a small lop of black powder grease. Then i place a over sized bullet, buckshot on the muzzle. I tap that into the bore...
