Evoken replied to a thread Anyone raise meat rabbits in Our Town
Currently don't have any, but have raised them for a while. We like the medium breeds for ease and maximum meat output. The large breeds tend to be too much bone/guts. The ones we liked the best were silver fox and American, beautiful coats and...

I like the way the ranch dog mold looks and would like to get one. I will most definitely get to trying 4198. For my first test I wanted to use some soft low pressure loads to start with. Once I'm sure she can take it I will start trying put both...

I have my test loads made up. These are both starting loads for the closest heavier weight in the latest lyman manual. Both boolits are seated at the crimp ring and crimped with a lee fcd. Minimal pressure is required to close the bolt and the...

I believe, and I will check for sure, that the copper anti seize I have says it contains mineral spirits. I would think that spirits would loosen it up.

Thanks for the tips. I will be trying 2400 with the lee boolit and I think 4198 with the noe one. For starters anyway. For the Krag that is. I believe that my main problem with the noe mold is my alloy. With lyman 2 it is casting fat noses, no...

Indeed it is. I did get enough sized to be able to make up some dummies at least and see if I'm headed in the right direction. I was able to get dummies of both 30 cal molds to properly chamber in the 30-40. I need to take the 308 down and check...

I see.... I ordered the sizer that fits in the app press. I guess I will have to order the sizer body kit for a regular single stage as well. Otherwise, although a pain in the butt a #2 pencil fits in the .300 neck die.

Jumping back in on this with my new nose sizing dies..... what a pain they are, haha. Unfortunately the boolits that I had cast with lyman #2 are now too hard to get them to nose size properly. Which sucks, but oh well back in the pot they will go....

I am going to let everything cure and probably give it a few shots next weekend. If all goes well it will be time to finish off all the gingerbread.

I pillar bedded the 2 action/ guard screws as well. Did not take any pics of that. I used commercial aluminum pillars and epoxy.

Almost done now. Removed material from base of stock to accept a piece of all thread and epoxy. Made the barrel band. Started bedding everything.

Getting back at this a bit as some of my parts came in. As a few of you have suggested the stock is in fact 2 pieces, although it was pinned together. I pulled the barrel band and seen the seam. Whomever had made this did a fairly good job at hiding...

Evoken replied to a thread Lithgow .303 in Military Rifles
The bore is slowly cleaning up. Spray some foaming stuff in there, let it sit a day, scrub crud out. I've been at it for about a week now. The rifling looks fairly strong even if it's got some pits in it. I can see one nick in the rifling that is...

Well that is a bummer to melt down perfect boolits. I still have to work on mine some as well, it is still fairly new and I don't think it's had 500 rounds through it yet. I'm hoping everything wears in at some point. I am fortunate to have a few...

I have the american compact in .45. I have similar issue with it going into battery and extraction. This is with swc and tc boolits that have a lip around the nose, such as the lee 452-230tc tumble lube. I also have trouble with this gun using the...

H335 is a good powder of course. I have also had some good luck with benchmark, varget, xbr8208(?), and cfe223. I like to try different powders. Oh, also blc-2(?). Cfe and blc are ball powders and meter very well. Ken

As far as the sight, yes I fiddled with it until it was maxed and still shot low. The original front blade was long ago removed and another was soldered in. As far as the barrel being warped down, I did not straight edge it yet but it was a thought...

The sight is a Williams, it is stamped krag underneath. The stock is definitely tricky on these things. Not enough there to keep them strong and straight without making a bench rest stock. When completed I plan on using this as a thick woods...
