I'd won a pair of new cast iron skillets last year. Both were rough on the inside. I took one to the shop to smooth it out, left the other one rough. I used them equally, and the rough one seasoned much better and faster than the smooth one.

Okay... still working on that beer (1/2 litre though not a regular bottle) but I managed to measure: - cloth is an old cotton shirt: thickness = 0.015" at first resistance of micrometer then down to 0.010" pretty easy but noticeable resistance...

Also, +1 for what BAGTIC said about 0.735" RB over Blue Dot. I settled on 36 to 38 grs. as any more became quite unpleasant to shoot! In fact 38 grs. is about as much "fun" as I want and I'm sure that big 'ol RB will leave a mark at the receiving...

You would have problems with the revolver in this area. Only one chamber at a time is permitted to be loaded at a time, due to a stupid accident by a pilgrim a few years ago. Managed to shoot himself putting the gun in a shoulder holster.

I was asked a question a year ago, and have researched it ever since. Apparently it doesn't exist, but thought I would ask here. Has anyone ever heard of "leftover bacon"?

Not arguing that it couldn't be done but that would infer that the slug was a factory loaded slug which we don't know. The consensus is that the slug is homemade so the only way to get it into the hull with a roll crimp is new hull or un-crimp...

Gun companies are hit up all the time for things like this. As much as they may wish to supply them, supply, demand, and the time to send them out is prohibitive.

I started grinding corn for corn cakes years ago. Much better having corn cakes than regular pancakes. You don't feel as full, and they stick with you better.

I wonder if the very thick patching is the issue? Maybe try slitting the patch from nose part way down to base in say 3 or 4 spots to make "petals" like a slit plastic wad. If it makes it into the rifling then should stay in place until the boolit...

If you want to keep weight down to what you have now, which is one skookum slug at 720 grs by the way, you could go with a small diameter hollow base to reduce weight some but retain bearing length. My thought is that a full bore slug should...

Just curious why you are using a solid slug in sabot instead of full bore solid slug for that rifled barrel? As a comment, I made a mould for Greg Sappington to his specs many years ago for use in CSD wads for rifled 12 ga. but he found that the...
