Now that is pretty slick! Good thinking and good work! What plastic are you using? What diameter is the tail wad? The innovation around here is amazing!

Yes, I'll be curious as to what Pedersoli says. Might be easier to paper patch a Lyman Foster up to bore diameter from 0.705". Different thickness of paper or more or less wraps would do it for both bores. While I haven't tried the Federal...

Well, again, I am surprised there is so much difference in bore diameters. I would figure the bores would be reamed to final diameter which should put them withing a thou or two of each other. Even if the barrels are made from drawn tubing the...

Cap'n Morgan has hit on something there! My biggest problem is air bubbles and shrinkage with the hot melt glue. Using an old press or sizer as a piston pump should provide enough "oomph" to squirt melted glue (or plastic) into a form, though it...

Interesting! I have not seen those before. I have seen the cartridge adapters and I think there are other manufacturers of those but I have not seen the muzzleloading adapters or their "reloadable cartridge". Not quite sure why you couldn't...

If you want a light weight plinker take a look at the Accurate Molds site. I asked Tom to scale down a .45 design to 0.433" it's his 43-165B... a .44 cal. 165 gr. TC design that shoots well from my .44 mag Marlin. Its a great little boolit and fat...

Help me here. So you are using a single shot break action shotgun as a muzzleloader? I used to have an H&R Huntsman .58 that was a converted single shot break action shotgun with rifled barrel and stainless steel breech plug that pushed in. The...

Yes, the hb pin is removable. The old style were riveted on place but the new style have a screw. Problem is the drive key... the hb pin has a slit milled in it so a new hb pin would be needed. Not only without a slot but with a shape to suit the...

I'd think you'd want something like 0.010" to 0.018" patch. There's some compression going to happen and more with a thicker patch. But if you have 0.715" bore then you'd want the ball around 0.695" I think. That's close enough to 0.690" to try...

I just looked the Piledriver slug data out for another fellow so thought I might as well share it here too: This was my basis for loading most slugs over 500 grs. I used Fiocchi 2 3/4" hulls, Winchester 209 primers (mild) and built up wad...

Okay... here is a pic of 3 Lee 7/8 oz. Drive Key slugs with moulded glue tail wad. Certainly not in the same league as Cap'n Morgan's work by any means! However, I have had some good success with this same idea using both solid slugs and...

Not quite the same but similar... I've made forms up for other slugs to add a hot melt glue tail wad Brenneke style. My original goal was to try to duplicate AQ slugs at home with readily available items. It works and works pretty well...

I'd ask for a few professional estimates, make an average in price. Then inform others involved of what you found on pricing, see what they say.

I can finish the wood, but can't do any other work on the gun considering my ffl doesn't cover gunsmith work. Wood would need to be removed from the gun, as the barreled action can't be left on the premises, again due to ffl regs.

With a new oven, put a test bullet in, and leave it for 20 minutes to be sure it doesn't slump. If not, you are good to go.

True. I've watched many families where you couldn't ask for better examples and guidance. The kid still turns out bad. Part of being a kid is rebellion against the parents. Fortunately, most grow out of it. Those who don't generally end up in jail...
