I used the white, because I had a section laying behind my shed. Any pipe will work, or for that matter, anything that will contain the steam. A long wood box would be just as good.

Sounds as though boolits are fat enough at 0.432" as most Marlins run 0.431"+ groove diameter. Could be low velocity maybe not enough to stabilize with the 1:38" twist. Try some speedier loads to see if that helps. Have you recovered any...

"Iv'e never been able to recover a fired bullet." You need more wood! I've recovered hot smokeless loaded .45-70, .44 mag., 12 ga. slugs/round balls, .58 muzzleloader balls and minies, lots of .22's of course. Most of the .303 boolits I have...

You need to fit your bullet to the throat. Try asking on the wanted section, you can probably find some samples to try.

It sounds like you are going to need three different molds, or try to size down the largest diameter to work for all. A heavy for caliber Loverin will work well nearly every time. I like to take a fired case, and find a size of bullet that slips...

You can use them, and they will be accurate with round ball, and there is no reason loads couldn't be worked up for shot that are effective. You would be working with lower velocities, and the coarser granulation you use, the more fouling. I use...

Something to keep in mind. If you already have an accurate load, you will need to add 300 fps to appreciably flatten a trajectory. And then not by much. Then you are back to searching for an accurate load again. Better off staying with your most...

I had fears of the long pin being an issue so didn't sign up for this one though I would like a mould. Instead what I did was to make a push out mould (like the old Ideal Cylindrical moulds) on the same design with long round pin. This mould...

I've done blond maple stocks, and in my opinion they come out a bit too light. They will darken a bit with age, but it does take along time. My fiddle that I left blond is around 20 years old, and it has gained a mellow yellow color over the years....

Not only wad column height, the shape of the "combustion chamber" in the hulls is different and that can affect both pressure and wad column/crimp height. Primers are a whole other ball game too. According to pressure testing by Tom Armbrust a...

If I need a larger bullet, I dissolve vi-ag-ra in some water, and soak the bullets. They only stay bigger for four hours, so you do need to shoot them fairly quickly.

Missoula is only 30 miles from Montana. Since you will be so close, you should visit the state! Missoula is Berkley North. Quite a bit to see in the area. Phillipsburg is a nice side trip, and the nearby Granite ghost town. Garnet ghost town isn't...

They don't know the rules until they have been there. We don't allow any .22 bores in our military matches, and the newest gun you see on the line is a Garand. We also restrict sporterized rifles. Those are a separate class that we shoot at two week...

I've used it in revolvers over the powder, rather than greasing the chambers. I was able to shoot more cylinders before the gun would tie up with fouling. I see no use for it in a long gun.

As with any other gun, a longer barrel will give a longer sighting plane. My main smoothbore is a 42", and one of my most accurate rifles is 44". I have shot very short barrel guns that were plenty accurate, if you could get a good sight of the...

It definitely does not season a bore. It's not cast iron, it's steel!

There is a company doing it, just can't remember the name at the time. We used that method at Serengeti Rifles. You need a plank a minimum of 2 1/2" more is better, and a good resaw to be able to pull it off. You also need a good table belt sander,...
