Sadly as an 18 year I bought my first centerfire rifle and it was a .222. But as an 18 year old I never thought I could not afford a Remington and had to settle for the lowly Savage 340. It was a good rifle, but nowhere as nice, nor as accurate as...

I built an Ar15 16" upper in 30 Herrett Rimless...Does that count? ;) 6.8 SPC case trimmed back and reformed with a 30 Herrett sizing die.

You get to western ND and the topography changes greatly. I was hunting in the Killdeer Mountains when I ran over a throne branch and I have a fast leak in one tire and a slower leak in another. I quickly changed the fast leak with the spare. I...

Not saying this is the case with your loads but the bolt closing force on an M1, M14 and and AR have enough force to push the shoulder back when chambering. This isn't as true for sizing the body but it takes very little to push the shoulders back....

Born and raised in ND. This is the norm when something like this happens. Same happened when my uncle was killed in a auto accident in 1970. That's what neighbors do in rural areas.

rbuck351 and too many things Thank You for sharing this, it's great to know. I have never seen a wood handle press that didn't have the shotgun die station. I am just now in the beginning of researching the turret press for an article, and it...

Mr. Frog person sir, we can just see three of Sal's presses so I can say that he has at least one with the shotgun bushing. The quick wat to tell is the handle, wood has the odd hole, bicycle grip is all four 7/8x14.

Mk42gunner, Like you I thought that side mount looks rather uncouth when I bought my 219 last year. But, I kept it out where I could see it for a few weeks and it has grown on me. I really like it now. They tell me that Beauty is in the eye of...

I can't address how government contractors get by with this. Within actual government agencies you have to have a equal or higher security clearance and most importantly an need to know. Of course inside threats will always find a way to...

That is an incredibly *low* price. I paid 2.5x that for mine, and after restoring it, would not sell it for <$6k.

If you can find it, there is an excelent article covering these early measures in the May-June Single Shot Rifle Journal. Of course it is written by an esteemed Castboolits member. Not me.

As usual Larry is spot on with his advice. Both loads of the OP's smokeless loads are recommended trap door loads. In many loadings Smokeless Powder has a softer pressure curve than BD. I used to load for a reenactment group mostly with smokeless...

The Hornady Headspace Comparator does exactly what it is claimed to do and it does it very well. Hornady calls it a COMPARATOR for a reason. It was not designed as a direct measurement tool unless used in conjunction with a actual standard like a...

The difference in peoples experiences on this type of stuff always surprised me. Between my 650's and my 1050 I have loaded 80K to 100K of bottleneck cases. Mostly .223 and 308. I do have a vacuum and compressed air at each machine. Never stuck...

Most eBay re-sellers are on crack - or worse. The early Model 9 should bring a little less than a Dunbar. They are nearly the same press, though the Herter's is not finished nearly as well. They are not common, but not rare either even with...
