With regards to shooting jacketed bullets what I said was; "simply shooting a couple hundred jacketed bullets with top end loads for the cartridge usually accomplishes the same thing. " "Usually" does not mean always. Like many things we...

To answer the OP question, you’ll need a new powder hopper and 2 screws. Dillon advised me to grab the powder measure and sharply whack the hopper against something immovable, like a bench. I was skeptical, but it works well, most of the time. Clean...

"THAT IS WHY I use Bullseye, TiteGroup, WST, or 452AA in the .38 Special, .44 Special, .44-40, .455 Mk2, .45 Colt and .45 AR." I certainly agree with Outpost75s choice of powders. I've been shooting M1917 S&W and Colts since the late '60s and...

I'm one who disagrees with the philosophy of "always size to the cylinder throats". I did considerable testing using a Ransom Rest and testing at 50 yards along with shooting off other rests at 25 yards found if the bullets were larger than .002 -...

jason280 Forgot to mention you might just TL those bullets in LLA as per the directions, let dry thoroughly and shoot. I do that to lots of commercial hard cast bullets with the hard wax lube and they shoot fine w/o leading. I used to clean the...

Murf205 That would be worth getting the heater for sure. I do have one of my 450s mounted on a heater as I was experimenting with lots of different lubes, including some harder ones such as carnauba red, for HV cast bullet shooting when I lived...

Another thing about "how good" some bullets make the trans-sonic transition back down to subsonic is how close the make that transition to the target. The closer to the target the transition occurs the less noticeable the adverse affect will be. ...

hard starts at air cooled ww to me and even that in a good gun is soft if you want the ultimate in accuracy. When I shot comp I casted most of my bullets for matches out of 5050 ww/lino that tested out at 17-18 bhn and that was for low pressure...

Other than the above some bullets will make the trans-sonic transition w/o losing a lot of accuracy, becoming dynamically stable or losing stability entirely. Generally a flat based, round nosed bullet with high sectional density makes the...

I've been shooting 41 magnums for many years and have used a .410 H&I sizer in my 450s. That has always given excellent accuracy because, as already mentioned W&W and Ruger are quite uniform in throat and groove diameter dimensions. Also for a lube...

bca get mixed reviews. They had a big shake up not long ago for hiring illegals to put guns together. It made a lot of buyers angry. I buy most of my ar stuff at palmetto but do have one Davidson defense upper and its every bit as good as the...

for the most part in a given cartridge barrel length really doesn't play much of a role in which powder works best. Take something like an o6 that does real well with 4350. It will do well with 4350 whether the barrel is 16 in or 26 inch.

I used pr200 surplus for probably 10 years. Fell in love with the stuff. When the supply dried up I went to aa2 (same thing) Meters perfectly, burns clean and is economical. Wish I could find about 50 more lbs of pr200 like when we got it for 50...

like was said copper is harder then any pc so its going to wear a barrel faster then a pc'd cast bullet or for that matter any cast bullet. Then factor in the sks and aks and ars that are fed a diet of steal jacketed bullets. Pc is a non issue.

there you go. A bullet bumping up or changing its shape in anyway is a bad thing not a good thing. Yup its might help in a poorly built gun with poor tolerances but in a good gun why would you want your bullets to swell or change shape knowing they...

I buy the 10lb boxes. No consistency what so ever but I get them on sale for 16 bucks a box so that a buck sixty a lb compared to 4 or 5 bucks a lb so I can live with different sized pieces.

With the EoTech mounted it's easy as both eyes are open so vertical hold is easy to tell the same as with the use of iron sights, just like on the handgun also. Additionally the Eotech reticle has a circle around the dot with hash marks at 12, 3, 6...

Russian MNs have long thin barrels that are surprisingly easy to bend. If the front sight is perpendicular to the top of the rear sight then I suggest a check of the barrel bedding. The barrel should not touch the stock. I have seen numerous MNs...

Mr. Flintstone In small cases such as the 32 H&R magnum pressure with a given powder is more about the seating depth (not to be confused with the OAL) when bullets of only 10 gr +/- are used. I have demonstrated that with numerous cartridges...

To obturate essentially means to swell, close or obstruct...... In firearms jargon "obturate" is most often meant to refer to the swelling of the bullet under acceleration to seal the bore in a bore/groove diameter larger in diameter. ...

Or just cast with #2 alloy as that mould is cut for COWWs. Should drop at .317 - .318 with #2.
