I have three ways of priming--Dillon 550B, RCBS Jr., and Lee hand tool. I don't know why but the Dillon does the worst job of the three. It seems like it takes far too much pressure for a compound press and the primers' bases are sometimes...

If you want a large caliber gun, I'd suggest the gun you've already shot, the Ruger NM Vaquero or Blackhawk in .45 Colt. If you're open to small calibers, a Single Six in .32 H&R Mag is a delight to shoot.

I've used the 429421 and 357421 and haven't had real good accuracy with either. The RCBS 150 gr SWC shoots much better in the .357 but as yet have no replacement for the 429421. When I do, the 4-cavity 429421 is going up for sale.

I had a Winchester 270 pump but it had the black plastic forearm and a dial-adjustable rear sight. Wish I'd kept it. Also have a Winchester 1906 Expert pump and a Model 61. For me, the M61 is the most naturally pointing .22 I've ever owned.

I had the same thing happen with a supposedly <1000 fps WW231 load in a Redhawk. Never did find out what happened.

It does to me, too. That's what .22's are for. If you use a SWC bullet, it won't damage the meat too much but the noise is too much.

AA-9 in .44 Mag and Ruger-level .45 Colt. Similar to 2400. Works OK; just takes more of it than Unique to do the same job. That's not a fault, as it was never meant to be a replacement for Unique.

Don't worry about it. You're bound to be putting a certain amount of waste in the pot anyway and anything lighter than lead floats to the top and you skim it off.

A little. We cut up the limbs when we felled the tree in that ravine but the trunk is still down there. My friend heats with wood and wants that trunk because black locust has very high BTU's per cord. I didn't notice it being all that hard to cut...

Get a good welding book, such as Richard Finch's "Welder's Handbook." Read it first before you buy anything. It's not a big book or expensive but will teach you a lot. Learn what electrodes are suitable for which jobs. Don't buy a whole bunch of...

I've had two, a .410 tube fed Stevens(?) and a Marlin Goose Gun. No longer have either one; the .410 got traded away for a car radio and the Goose Gun got sent down the road because I couldn't hit a thing with it. Wish I'd kept the .410. It was...

I load the .32-20 (same case) with Lyman 'M' dies. I haven't loaded all that many, maybe a couple hundred, but it seems to work well with the Lyman 115 grain cast bullet.
