I found a 5 inch 44 special GP-100 that is blued steel that made my heart go pitter patter until I found out it had 4 magnaport holes in the perfectly blued 5 inch tube. Seems a waste in a 44 special and seems like it would be very loud to boot....

I have an early 70's 1894 in 44 mag with a gouge in the chamber from the factory. Looks like a chip got between the reamer and the barrel. It works OK with moderate loads, but not with full power ones. I'm thinking it needs to get rebarreled to...

That my friend is a dandy lookin revolver! Please tell in another post how it compares to the plain blackhawk grip. Been tempted on the Bisley grip a few times but really want to shoot one first.

Ha ha ... yep 63 years young and unmuffled chainsaw's, straightpipe Harleys, unmuffled heavy equipment and tons of loud rock n roll have me saying HUH a lot anymore. Lost a bunch of my hearing already and I appreciate the loud noise warning....

NSB ... I bow to your experience here. My one thought is the horrible crack of the high speed loads of 158 grain boolits. My thoughts were that when hunting, I do not wear any hearing protection and more and more, the noise level of the magnum...

Spending a bit of time with my 357's. Always thought that heavy 180 grain + boolits should do well in the 357 mag revolver for deer hunting and such. With the heavy 200ish boolits , the inertia and penetrating power should do well on deer size...

That is a fact, the charcoal used in making BP is an excellent conductor as seen by this picture of trying to ignite BP using electricity.

I don't know what it is, but I have used it for many years and it works great. It easily washes off with plain water, great stuff.

I am with you. The 44WCF and 45 Colt did very good for themselves for a very long time with energy levels under what the 200 swc has when loping along at 1000 fps. Lotza animals were eaten with energy levels lower then this. Can not imagine...

I agree, the 9mm is a reliable and fast and plenty of power in a many shot unit that does its job very well in an auto firing pistol. The 38 special does its job very well also. Less shots available, heavier boolits, fine revolvers that handle...

I like the old 10 grain load in most large rifle cartridges. I have used this as a starter in 30-06, 375 Ruger, 444 Marlin, 45-70, 38-55 and 40-65 Win. Been tempted to try this in my 43 Spanish but do not know what pressure it would develop. ...

Accurate Molds numbers 46-405N, 46-500D and 46-530C boolits look good to me for use in your mold type. These have a sturdy lookin nose along with great lookin grooves that should carry plenty of lube. For a great cheaper mold that casts very good...

To check your sized brass try loading it into the cylinder after just sizing. I have had frustration getting my reloads to chamber and discovered they needed length cut for an even crimp. If the crimp is off just a smidge ... they will not load...

Now we are getting someplace. If your nickel cases have been work hardened ... they may not take sizing and might "spring" back instead of staying sized. I do not know if you can anneal those cases but if your regular brass cases do fine ... do not...
