Oh man ... my BP dealer sells both GOEX regular at the same price as Old E powder sooo, I have been using the higher grade Ol E. It is superior to goex in many ways but, cleanliness is tops. I urge you to give it a try. My muzzle loaders perform...

Gazing at my old Lyman load book and my late Ideal book ... both list 10 grains Unique under their 180 grain boolit. Wondering if the 73 rifle is stronger then the Colt SAA which was the test vehicle for those 10 grain loads. I hesitated loading...

That is an added bonus ... clean outter cases with no to very little blowback. All in all I find that these expensive rounds perform VERYwell in my 16 inch barreled 1873 Miroku 45 Colt rifle. Giving 1.5 inch groups at 30 to 35 yards. A further...

Cool picture. I remember taking an old kettle used for just that use, quart of water and baggie of coffee, several slices of bread and some kitchen match's. Roasted critter, fresh cowboy coffee and dry toast. Meal fit for kings.

I did that with a Remington 580. Those $35 Green Mountain blanks are the deal for projects like this. No big deal if you have a lathe.

Thanks 35, I have noticed that if I keep my rounds under 1.6 inch, they work thru my actions well. I have loaded and fired 45-70 duplex loads of 4 or 5 grains IMR 4227 under 58 grains 2Fg GOEX ( pretty dirty fouling powder ) and with the duplex,...

Yes I do like 73's and 92's. Except for taking apart and reassembling, they are the shiz niz for this old kid. At any rate, I took the old 38 wcf out for a test drive yesterday and figured ... heck why not ... take my short barreled Miroku 73 in...
