Great outfit to work with. I'd recommend them highly. Unless it's just for balance I'd leave out the mercury tube, that rifle isn't going to kick anyway.

I use a lot of 1144 for that. Cheap, machines well, and easy to harden if you feel the need. Those expanders don't need to be hard though, they last a long time anyway.

I am with old red here. The uberti is more original in almost all respects including bore diameter. There is a huge difference between my1893 Marlin 38-55 and my rebarreled with a GM barrel Miroku 38-55. The Marlin has the correct .380 diameter...

Hey bro, that looks like a plan i have using a .454 lee hollow base 45 cal muzzle loader minie. I have wanted to try it with black powder in the same vein as you have it loaded. I want to setup my encore with a 16 or 18 inch barrel. What barrel...

6mm BR. Way longer barrel life, less recoil, easier to get top notch accuracy.

I coveted the 45-70 barrel for years for my Encore. Finally landed a new Katiden 45-70 and couldnt wait to shoot it. Got it out and with anticipation i shoved a 500 grain RCBS loaded shell into the yawning hole in the breech. Powered with some...

Yes. 1... take a fired case and just slightly flair the mouth to completely remove any crimp. 2... now take a inside caliper and measure the inside of the fired case neck. 3... take this measurement and cast boolits measuring this measurement...

So what do your fireformed cases tell you? I always measure the fired case mouth to see what the diameter of soft lead boolit it wants to have. The chamber/throate will indicate exactly which size boolit will most accurately function in your...

I recently asked C-Sharps about the 45-70 chamber and they replied it was SAAMI spec. They haven't replied on the 40-65 chamber yet. The reason I asked was I am considering having them build me a high wall.

I had the same thought when I first saw those. Looks like it would be pretty entertaining to play with and should be quite accurate, what is the recoil like with full diameter bullets? Are you able to hold onto it? I have a 500gr. .492" slick mould...

Have you handled S&W's AR10 variant (M&P10)? It feels quite a bit lighter and better balanced than other AR10 variants but I may be wrong. It feels more like an AR15 to me. According to their site it's 24 ounces heavier than a similar M&P15. I...

I second the " special" with 38-55. My marlin 1893 Safety is a shooter, i paid 500 for the rifle and sent the sewer pipe to a member here and had it relined back to the same .380 diameter. She shoots like a house a fire. Love love it.

This reflects my findings as well. In my humble experience, i have never seen flattened primers indicating pressure when loading black. I also have a 45-120 and i have loaded it with 135 grains 2Fg and no pressure signs. My heavy 55 grain loads in...

Probably so, not really much on the MSR's. As a Winchester collector I generally won't admit owning one. ;-) Not sure what to call S&W's .308, doesn't quite look like an AR10 but that's actually the one I was envisioning.

Just realized this round may require a redesigned J-word for the masses desiring a hunting load. Most .338 J-words are designed for performance at much higher velocities. Mike

Should have your rifle back soon. A little late to the party but I was going to suggest finding an 1894 in 38-55. Only downside is it would probably need a mould that drops .380 boolits. I was going to send a Marlin off to JES for this same...
