Like the others have said, it depends on how many lube grooves the bullet has and how deep they are. Lar's lube is cheaper that other lube that you see on line. And he is local ( less than 30 miles) to me. I always enjoy the visit when I stop by his...

I'm not a gardener so my planting will be stuff for the Wildlife. About the middle of April I'll start working on 10 acres to plant Sunflowers on for a Dove hunt that I host every year. My field is pretty grown up and needs lots of work. If the...

I don't usually weigh cast bullets but a few experiments that I have done the bullets were within .3 grain of +or- .015. Thats in the ball park of your better jacketed bullets.

Laughing, but with you and not at you! :drinks: Most all of us have done that, either from not knowing or by accident, like you did. I have been pretty successful getting them loose by hand but it helps if you have tough hands.

I store my powder and primers in their original containers on shelves in my loading room. My loading room is in my house where the temperature is controlled. The shelves are not exposed to sunlight.

Its either one of two things. Either your mold or your lead is not hot enough. It may even be both of those. Or your mold may be contaminated with something. Get after it with either some brake cleaner and an old tooth brush or some hot water and...

My go to is a 150 grain Keith Type SWC. Next up is the same Keith Type SWC weighing 170 grains. Most mold manufactures make either of these. My 150 is an RCBS and the 170 is an original H&G.

All good suggestions above. But don't knock your self out looking for a used hot plate. You can get a new one from Walmart for 12 or 14 dollars. But if you see a used one for a lot less you can grab it.

About the only thing I would change in my casting set-up is that I would start with a Star sizer rather than buying one 40 years later. I also recommend starting with a 20 pound pot. I've made a few improvements over the years as technology advanced...

For those of you that may need to replace a cord someday, Lowes and Home Depot have short cords with only the male end. I used these when installing things like dish washers and garbage disposals. Seems like they are $4 to $6 for a 5 or 6 ft one.

I flux when it gets good and liquid. If its wheel weights or some other type of scrap with steel in it I will skim it first and then flux. I've never paid any attention to the temperature.

I have both a Tel True and an RCBS that read pretty close to what my PID reads. The Lyman that I had was way off. This was a dial, not the digital one.

Its been my experience that flat base are more accurate but I usually can't shoot the difference. Bevel base bullets are a pain to size and lube if you're not using a Star. If you're coating them it doesn't much matter.

That’s my plan as well. I really didn’t think of annealing prior to cutting. I’ve done that step. It was pretty easy. Trimming them is a pain however! What are you planning on using to cut with? I used a harbor freight mini chop saw. Worked fine,...
