So, you shoot your gas checked bullets without a gas check? How does that work? I've turned to gas checking and sizing, then powder coating with a wiped off base, then re-sizing. Chris And I hate to admit it, but I don't use lead in any of my...

Chris S started a thread Aroundtuit in Cast Boolits
Well, one good thing about all this Corona crap, I finally got around to doing stuff that I've been putting off for years. I spent the last two days in the garage making 30 and 35 cal gas check punches. I just followed the instructions from Dima...

Guess this is one good thing about living in the desert. Here in the Las Vegas valley we have no mosquitos... of course we have very little water either. You buy your ticket and you take your ride I guess... Chris

Chris S replied to a thread Gas Check seating in Gas Checks
I'm curious guys. Those of you using the NOE seating system or even the 450 sizer/luber, if you take a finished bullet and roll it, does the check run flat and true? This is my acid test and one I do on every checked bullet, sometimes I spend...

Chris S replied to a thread Lee Pot...UGH! in Casting Equipment
I'll add this, and just this once: in the interest of saving my lungs and yet maintaining the comfort of casting indoors, I built a positive flow ventilation system in my garage using an inline fan, 6" flex piping and a series of adaptors to form a...

Very nice Assassin, can you regale us with a bit more info on that mod.? Like who does it, his lead time and how much he charges? I'm very interested in this. Thanks much Chris Panhead65: I think you made the right choice, my Savage' both...

Chris S replied to a thread Lee Pot...UGH! in Casting Equipment
Ya know, I've never used anything but the Lee bottom pours. They drip, and do not regulate too well, but they work. I build up a PID a few years back, and this has helped immensely. I've never had the spout freeze up on me. I have had it clog with...

Chris S replied to a thread Gas Check seating in Gas Checks
This has been a real bugger for me as well. I've tried all kinds of gaschecks in all kinds of calibers and none are ever "just easy". One thing I did get that helps is NOE's little hand tool for taking the burr off the bottom of a slug. This helps a...

Chris S replied to a thread mgm barrel in Single Shot Guns
Copy that Three44s, if I'm gonna shoot at something like a big kitty, I want to know it's going down with the first shot. I'd think a 25-20 or even 32-20 would take a a couple well placed rounds to bring such a critter down, and said critter might...

458 SOCOM You'll be able to use magazines you already have and brass cost is not an issue as you won't need more than a hundred or so rounds (no one could shoot that many). Start looking into muzzle brakes now...;-). Chris

I shoot a 35 Rem and it is good. It really likes the RCBS 180 grain silhouette slug. FWIW though, I think the 32-20 and 25-20 meet your criterion even better in that they are not capable of over speeding lead projectiles and maintain superb accuracy...
