Interesting information. Two of my M91s are Loewes and three are DWMs. The M91 Rifle and M1909 are both in very good to excellent conditions with perfect bores....both are great cast bullet shooters also. The other three were commercial...

Randy: The only reason I avoided the scope is that it adds a lot of extra weight to the gun and affects his gun handling. There is very little advantage of a Scope over a Red Dot optic at 300 or less, and at Conversational distances there is a...

The AR 556 is an excellent AR. My Brother bought 2 of them and he got the base models at about $525 each. These were bought as defensive Carbines and the only real training him and his son have gotten is a couple of hours training from me and all I...

Always wanted a FWB124/127 Problem was back in the mid 70's they were not that common, so when another similar gun showed up I bought it instead. It was a Weihrauch HW35 and I still have it. I have probably 4-5000 rounds thru that gun and it is...

In machining, chatter is the vibration that feeds on itself as the tool moves across the part. What you have appears to be a broach cut barrel using a dull or damaged broach. The damage areas are from the base metal tearing due to the dull or...

Herco is a great over looked powder. Remember Alliant cleaned their powder line up and the are not as dirt as they once were. It's interesting to note that in some instances there is data where you load more of Unique then the Herco. That strikes me...

You really can ignore the "wrong powders, wrong bullet weights" if you use a Schuster adjustable gas plug within reason! They have them for the M1A's too.

You are correct you can load any number of shells from 1 to 7 and it's not that hard. Once you learn it's easy. Another thing too, some Garand, not all, you can load an 8 round enbloc, don't let the action close, then place a loaded round in the...

There is no direct correlation. Low SD and ES don't become a factor until the yardage gets long for that cartridge and target size small. A simple example is 308 in match rifles. At 200 &300 yards group size is my primary concern since poor...

Larry I hope you are not referring to that the Lewis Machine & Tool company had anything to do with the Lewis Machine Gun of WWI days. LMT was founded in 1980 to provide the U.S. Military, law enforcement, and government agencies with high quality...

I guess you could say I was raised on ARs since I shot my 1st one back in '65 at Fort Ord. In SEA we (173 ABN Bde) had the same problems with them as did everyone else.......We had XM16s, M16s and even a few "green guns (XM16s with green stocks). ...

Padding and baffles absorb the sound reflections and therefore reducing the overall average Reverb time. Suppressors reduce the gas pressure and let it escape into the atmosphere more slowly at a much lesser pressure. It does nothing for the sonic...

Garand is not picky to load for with cast. Use ordinary FL resizing dies. You don't need or want "small base" sizing dies. These are a coinspiracy between the die makers and brass sellers to wear out your brass more quickly. DO use USGI...

A sound box with baffles (e.g. the tires) works in a different way than does a suppressor. The sound box captures the noise from the muzzle blast and attenuates it. The suppressor on the other hand captures the escaping gas at the muzzle and...
