Years ago I got a 7 1/2" Ruger Blackhawk in .45 LC. I really liked shooting the RCBS 255 gr. boolet thru it pushed by 6 1/2 gr. of Red Dot. It equaled about 900 +/- fps which was the old original loading. That Fall I sat in a brush blind near a...

I do a lot of work for collectors. If the bore is bad it is not valuable to a collector, most of them want something that looks like it was never used. I get lots of these in for reline because they are worth more as a shooter than a collectable. If...

In the Ruger revolvers and others having longer cylinders, which permit seating bullets out to reduce jump and provide maximum powder capacity, the Accurate 45-290H bullet is my bullet of choice for a heavy hunting load. Seven grains of Alliant...

At this point the right grip panel is about 80% done. The left panel still needs to be sanded down closer to the final size, and then profiled. Escutcheons have been installed, and the locator holes drilled.

That makes sense. I’m guessing though that these rifles can handle more than that. Given the same platform for 357 magnum. No need to push the pressures though. The accuracy is great and plenty of energy to get the job done.

Interesting. 44/40 is tempting. There’s a Navy Arms 1866 44/40 locally. It’s old but appears to be in good condition. I think he’s asking $750. Local guys is selling a NIB 1873 from Uberti for $750. Seems a better deal.
