I've used Rich's flints, and bless him for making them available. However I did find they really wear a frizzen, so I keep them for emergency use only.

I used a short .54 barrel on my Hawken one year and killed a little buck with it. Used a TC Maxi Hunter mold and yes, it did indeed kick hard. I was young and dumb and probably used way more Pyrodex than was necessary, especially given the ranges...

Dad gave me a big ol' drum of Alcan 120 I have been using up for a couple of years now. I managed to find enough load data (120 was never real popular in anything it seems) to figure out it burns like Red Dot, so I have been using Red Dot starting...

...............I'd picked this mould up many moons ago and haven't even warmed it up yet. I'm in the process now of inventorying all my moulds and would like to know what this one is supposed to be. Looks like a 30/31 cal, maybe 160/180 gr RNGC. ...

I went to a gun show in Wichita last weekend with my Dad. It's one that seems to cater to old and antique stuff, not table after table of black rifles and automatic pistols, maybe that's the difference. Nothing out of the ordinary, no protests,...

I had been using the Lee universal die to load .38-55, apparently, it wasn't cutting it. I do use it pretty much all the time when loading cast rifle bullets. These dies made a huge difference.

I kind of wish I had thought of that as I was using a set of old RCBS dies before, might could have saved a little money and just replaced the expander plug. Oh well. To say I'm impressed with how much better these dies made this rifle shoot is...

I have a .38-55 that has been troubling getting it to shoot well to say the least. Big groups, I'd mess with it a bit, set it aside and come back to it. Kind of figured after reading that the expander plug was the problem, so I splurged on a set...

Most new cars they sell it as a unit. Just the way its done anymore. Sometimes you can find out the bearing number and buy direct. But way better off just unbolting the old one, bolting on a new one and away you go.

arlon 358156 performed best (precision) in a 112" barrel I had. Unfortunately I have no notes on the loading I had hopes that the LAR45 180 RNFP GC was going to be it, but never found "the load" with the limited testing I did.

I like to squirrel hunt with cast in centerfires. I have the itch to get a small .25, pretty sure it will be just getting a barrel for my Contender rifle. I have dies for the .25-20 and .256 though have never loaded for either (yeah, I'm a...

Its hard to know who is doing what anymore. Go buy a S&W it might be made by S&W or Walther. I bought one of their M&P compact 22s, thats made by S&W, but the full size isn't. Ruger, they all seem to do it anymore. Walther got absorbed by...

I am getting ready to take the plunge, does anyone know if the 8-M is worth the extra $100 and the wait from china, or is it just the 8 with the metal parts that can be purchased separately already installed?

Traditions use to be CVA didn't they? Usually a reason they change the name, to avoid past ticked off customers. I had the chance to examine a traditions kit gun compared to an old CVA. Seems CVA was the better brand. I bought a Kentucky rifle...

I have been running 460 in a blackhawk, a convertible with 45 acp cyl. I did not cut the chambers to 460, but trim the brass back to ACP length. The extra length must give enough neck tension to keep the bullets from moving under recoil, not like...
