If I'm not mistaken, there's a passage in the bible that says if your neighbor loses his load of sticks from his donkey, you help him pick them up. If he doesn't pitch in, you quit.

As much as everyone is worried about the gun, they should be doing a push to bring the cause to the forefront. Put the blame where it should and logically does lie. Cowardice . . . afraid to say something about potential threat Political...

The side mounts work well. The Hornet is fun. Two grains of Bullseye and a 45 grain plain based bullet is squirrel head accurate at realistic ranges and they kill better than .22 LR hollow points even with body shots.

Did you do the work yourself or do you have a local gunsmith you can recommend? I'm considering rebarrelling one of my Enfield #4s to either a copy of the Aussie's 22-303 or a 6.5-303 (The 6.5 Dutch Mannlicher is basically a 6.5-303)

I don't water-drop or heat treat my alloy for my high velocity cast bullets (223 Rem) but I switched to a hard-alloy (BHN 21) mix (10lbs of Antomonial Lead and 5lbs of Roto Metals Super Hard Alloy (87% lead, 13% Antimony) with my original BAC lubed...

If anyone shoots a Type 38 Arisaka or Type I Carcano, 35 Remington is easily reformed to 6.5x50. That said, if you decide to split this box up, I'd be interested in a couple of hundred for my collection of Arisakas. There is a member on this...

Apache armaments in Kentucky has a 40 cal ar upper that fits on your 9mm lower. Ask to talk to Charles, they are at a lot of Indiana larger gun shows, especially the 1500 in Indianapolis.

this is how it works with naked lead too. eliminate the imperfections and don't change the intended shape of the bullet and you get on target results.

"I have never heard of an inaccurate 788." Yep. Have had several over the years, all shot well. Only have a 6mm now, but it is a very accurate rifle. Not about to let that one go.

I had one for a little while. I like 788s and this one shot well, but I liked my Savage 340 better and sold the 788 eventually. I doubt you'll find a more accurate .30-30.

I'd ask for a few professional estimates, make an average in price. Then inform others involved of what you found on pricing, see what they say.

I can finish the wood, but can't do any other work on the gun considering my ffl doesn't cover gunsmith work. Wood would need to be removed from the gun, as the barreled action can't be left on the premises, again due to ffl regs.
