Yeah, $10 is a lot more than most of the gun shows I attend, but most of those are small towns, which I love. Still, $10 to keep me that entertained for a couple of hours seems cheap to me. That show had a ton of reloading and bullet casting...

So Reck is the same as the other poorly made pistols Germany made at the time. A 25 blowing up a gun, wow. I had one of those 22LR german made revolvers. I got tired of fixing it, and chucked it. Back of the cyl was all dented from the hammer...

I messed with this today, a chunk of 45 cal muzzle loader barrel, and a piece of 22 barrel. It does look to be a feasible project. Problem would be cost. I would basically be ruining a 45 ACP barrel, cheapest I can find are the often questionable...

I worked as a tech at a dealer, and broke more snap on tools than craftsman. Have 2 sets of the S&K socket/ratchet, 3/8 and 1/4 drive, never had an issue out of them. Snap on, you have to wait for the guy to come buy to replace anything, even harder...

I could see where conventional lubed cast might be an issue in a 223 gas weapon. Trying to drive them hard enough to cycle the rifle might lead to issues. Powder coating seems to fix alot of that. I have driven a 55gr cast to 3000fps out of a...

Funny how big of variation these old rifles can give. I tried R22 as it showed was faster in a 7mm mauser at the old pressure. But 4831 was way better. I found the lowest velocity loss with fast powders in a short barrel Mosin. 29in down to 17in...

I have never seen a subsonic 223 load sold. And really was not that easy to come up with. I tried the various recipes on the internet, bullseye, tightgroup, or trailboss. All gave terrible results, its was the wide variations in velocity. One shot...

Would have thought all the Spanish rifles had bent bolts. 3 I have are all bent, 2 7mm, 1 308. But I guess not an actual bent bolt, one came with a scope set up, it has to be pretty high off the receiver for the handle to clear a scope.

From what I have read, the alloy frame guns are unobtanium. Basically the alloy frame guns did not hold up to use, so really rare to find one. But yea would be nice, the CZ75 PCR I bought recently is alloy and so much lighter than normal. Its...

The book data is based on the front crimp groove. Move it out to the rear one, the velocity will drop.

I grew up on the east coast (S.C.) and if I ever did have to move back east of the Mississippi, it would be there. Had to drive east about a year ago to pick up my son from the Camp Lejune area, couldn't get out of all that congestion and **** fast...

That bullet is a great deer bullet, I and several others on here have used it successfully with no excessive meat damage. You cast it way too hard, pushed it too fast and shot something that wasn't realistic at point blank range and then call the...

The .22 LR drought got me to looking at other things and was what got me into casting for the .22 Hornet, I bought a Hornet specifically to do that. In retrospect, I might have done better trying to do it with my .223. My old Savage 110 has the...

For elk and moose, I would recommend nothing under 260 gr. I wouldn't even consider the 200-220 gr. range. Off angle shots may not give the penetration you want. IF you are going to push beyond factory velocities for cast, better have a good rifle...
