I keep wanting little projects done and finding someone to do them has been well a waste of time. The machine shops around me say its not enough to mess with or the cost for doing a little job is just to much to justify. So I been on the hunt for...

I don't have a lot of faith in game biologists. We have a couple here that can't tell a grizzly from a black bear, and insist the flying squirrels we have here don't exist in Montana.

I started shooting Trapdoor Springfield's in 1968 or 1969. I did all the casting and reloading for a 7th Calvary reenactment group. I kept records of who took how many rounds including myself. One summer I fired 5,600 rounds of 45/70 myself. I...

Not a bad tip I may have to look into that right now I have some foam cut at a angle I lay a towel on so the bullets roll down a hill nice and soft. The only time I have a problem is with 405 gr and 247 rifle they are long and hold heat so deform...

If you know the size of the target that is what you use. An average bull is about 6 feet at the shoulder. Knowing this holdovers are not that difficult. With a little practice range estimation based on target size is not that challenging. Also...

The only thing that I have shot in mine is M852 or M118LR. I wasn't expecting much when I got them. I just wanted the cheap parts. I do all my on work including chambering so I looked at them as a cheap parts source.

Yes it's the same lower, however, the lowers are not standardized like the AR15's. The ones that take the Stoner/Magpul mags are becoming the most common.

Did you do the work yourself or do you have a local gunsmith you can recommend? I'm considering rebarrelling one of my Enfield #4s to either a copy of the Aussie's 22-303 or a 6.5-303 (The 6.5 Dutch Mannlicher is basically a 6.5-303)
