Sportsman's Warehouse has all their primers on sale. I picked up 1K each of the Winchester large pistol and large rifle for $22.90 per 1K before tax. They limit you to 1K per SKU number. JM

I picked up 155 pounds at my local scrap yard last month. I paid $0.75 a pound. It all came from one sail boat keel. Using the artist pencil scratch test it’s roughly in the neighborhood of 9 BHN to 10 BHN. JM

My Arisaka measures .317” also. I'm using two molds designed for 8mm rifles. First one is a plain base version of the Lee C324-175-1R. The other is a Lyman 323470 gas check mold. I size these down to .318” with a lee push through sizer. The sizing...

The load data for the 358477 should be just fine pressure wise, because of the following statement from the Lyman 50th edition. Lyman 50th edition, Page 416, 357 Magnum, third paragraph: In order to maintain a maximum overall cartridge length of...

And, if you don’t add the mineral spirits, a few minutes using your wife’s old hair dryer to warm up your bullets will help the lube cover and flow. Not all of us live in sunny Arizona like Larry.:kidding::kidding:

50/50 with odorless mineral spirits. Warm it up by setting the bottle in some hot water for 10 minutes before you mix it. JM

I just picked up a 4 pound container of Herco for $49.97 before tax, at Sportsman’s warehouse. It seems that a corporate bean counter has decided that 4 pounders are slow movers, and they are discontinuing them. Herco is not a powder I have used...

Bazoo, I have settled on using 13gr of 2400 with the 358477, in .357 Mag cases. Alliant 2400 has become a "utility powder" for me. I use it in three different calibers .357 Mag, 30-06, and 7.7x58mm. JM Edit: Lyman 3rd edition Cast Manual...

I have a friend who’s nephew started his own Ebay business at 13 years old. He had enough money by the time he was 15 to buy his own car and pay for driving school. Most of what he sold was stuff that his extended family was going to donate to...

Well I have been reading about how you all love your .32 cal pistols. I’ve been looking at a few. A .327 mag revolver was out of my price range. Many things I want to buy are out of my price range. So I had accepted the fact that no .32 cal pistol...

I wouldn’t worry to much about dishonest pewter seller’s on this forum. The straight shooter’s far outnumber the deadbeats in the swapping and selling section. I have had no bad dealings here on this site. If a man advertises that his ingots are...

I have started to cast the Lee TL452-230-R2. I bought the 6-cavity, at the very reasonable price of 44 dollars (I already had a set of the large Lee handles). I tumble lube these with 45/45/10. This boolit functions just fine in my gun. I’m happy. ...

I haven’t shot bullets with off center sprues. But I have shot some 30-06 Lyman 311291 bullets that the base was rounded and not perfectly square. After the gas check was installed I did not see a difference when shooting groups. I think that you...

About JM7.7x58
Long time listener, first time caller. I've been reading this forum for years. Very grateful for all the information I have gathered here over the years.
I was given an old Type 99 Arisaka over a decade ago by a family member. It had been disasembled back in the 70's and was missing half of it's screws. I got it put back together and am now getting ready to cast boolits for it and for 38 special/.357 mag.
