The only thing that I would change for sure is my first lead pot purchase. I regret buying a Lee 20# bottom pour pot. Mine is currently "adjusted" so that the slide will not move, basically plugging the pot. I am now laddle casting, and very happy...

^^^^This is a great idea!^^^^ If you don’t have round nose pliers (they are great by the way, I have two pairs), you could insert a Lee Case Length Gauge into the neck of the Bee and clamp down with some “soft jaw” vise grips. I like cut up...

We have a bush that grows around here called ocean spray, it also goes by the name iron wood. The natives used it to make digging sticks, second year growth makes good arrows, and if glued at the handle a good bow can be made from it. I use a stout...

I really value the Lyman Cast Bullet Manual 3rd edition. It has a lot of Herco data. I just recently picked up 12 pounds of Herco for a great price. Between this website and my copy of the 3rd edition I did a lot of research before my purchase. I...

JM7.7x58 replied to a thread Preheating mold in Cast Boolits
I use a cheap electric Panini sandwich press. It has a heating plate/element both top and bottom. I paid like $7.00 for it at the thrift store. I start heating my molds at the same time as I turn on my Lee 20# pot. By the time the lead is melted...

I sized and tumble lubed 300 Lee 452-230-RN-TL and 200 Lee 358-148-WC-TL. I then loaded two dummy rounds for my new to me 32 ACP Beretta 81. Did this without having any dies, they are in the mail. I used the NOE expander for my 30-06, to open the...

Go through all your die boxes. It may have been living in sin with another caliber for all these years! I hope there weren’t three dies in that box, that would be disgusting!!! JM

My first mold was a Lee .358 wadcutter mold. I scrubbed it with comet cleanser. And made a bunch of boolits. Many were rejects, but I made so many that it didn’t matter. Have a nice round piece of hard wood on hand, and only hit the bolt on the...

I have a 6 banger 45 acp, 230 grain mold that I use a ladle with. My ladle is not really a normal ladle. I use a 2 oz kitchen ladle w/ a 3/32” hole drilled in the bottom. It is basically a mobile mini bottom pour pot. It works great. It’s really...

Smaller batches will mean less smoke. Bacon fat gives off a different smell than candle wax gives off. More like cooking meat. Always have a plumbers torch handy to light off your flux, way less smoke when it flames up. Sneak up on it! Try five...

Thank You Pressman for the history lesson. I now feel foolish for “switching” to a new die brand. I assumed that the hornady shell holder would work with the Lee on press priming system because my RCBS shell holders have in the past. From your...

Public Service Announcement: Hornady Shell Holder Center Holes Are Bigger. They will not correctly align the priming arm on the Lee Classic Cast Press. My reloading for today is shut down. Going to get a new shell holder ordered. Side Note:...

It is a good system if you are using their turret presses that have limited space between dies. For me and my single stage presses the new rings have no value. I like my die nuts to have flats. JM

Long time listener, first time caller. I've been reading this forum for years. Very grateful for all the information I have gathered here over the years.
I was given an old Type 99 Arisaka over a decade ago by a family member. It had been disasembled back in the 70's and was missing half of it's screws. I got it put back together and am now getting ready to cast boolits for it and for 38 special/.357 mag.
