I have the Hornady LNL, a Dillon 550 and a Dillon 650. I agree that the priming system on the LNL needs attention sometimes but it still cranks out ammo at a respectable pace. On the upside the Hornady case activated powder system is the absolute...

I have 2 Lee's, a Pro-Melt in 220 and a Magma 40 lber. The Pro-melt is better than the Lee because it is a 22 lb pot, compared to the Lee's 17. It's thermostat is attached to the pot, whereas the Lee thermo, is in the little tower, so there is much...

If I offer up something for sale, and say OBO, and one guy offers me less than the asking price, or offers to trade me something that I don't want, and another offers the full price, then that is the best offer. Unless I have nothing better to do,...

Only if it fits in a Flat Rate Box, otherwise it can get much more expensive. 57! When did the other 7 get admitted?

The smaller numbers usually refer to jacketed bullets, in my experience. I run .358 in both my Browning HP's, my Tanfoglio's and my wife's Astra, and they work fine.

Wheelweights are some of the dirtiest things you can encounter, what with dirt, oil, dog piss, sand, and even chewing tobacco in some buckets. If melting and fluxing will get that out, I don't think a bit of lapping compound is going to stay in the...

OK, then I'm in for 1- 8 cavity aluminum. I have the HP version, and this would go well with that for making practice ammo. whytelw AT comcast DOT net

I make my own lube sticks for my Magma sizer. I used to use an electric coffee pot but had to watch it real close as it was much hotter near the heating element, and the heat was non-adjustable. Now I just use a Corning Ware coffee pot and heat it...

I am reluctant to post too much about this but I reckon Jim and Janet will forgive me if I do. I know there's a lot of folks here that have a high regard for Jim and I figure they would like to know how Jim is getting on. Janet (Jim's wife) said...

I built a rifle using the same barreled action (.308 heavy barrel) in an Axiom Aluminum stock. I did replace the trigger with an adjustable Timney. It is a very accurate rifle, sub MOA with 168gr SMK and RL-15 powder. Shoots a lot better than I...

I built my own PID for mine, plus one for the RCBS. I managed to knock the RCBS off the table and bent the spout, and tore it loose from the pot. So a friend of mine is welding on a thick metal piece with a nut for a PID thermocouple and I am going...

You asked, so I'll have to say the best is a Magma. I also have an RCBS Pro-melt, so I can say this. The Pro-Melt is a great pot, but for me it can still be too small. I prefer to cast a few thousand at a time, when I find the time. It just works...
