I size clean cast bullets for pan or Tumble Lubing, by tumble lubing them in Dawn dish soap. Size then rinse in hot water in a strainer, dry in sun. Then lube by TL or Pan Lube. Depending on need. And if you haunt fleabay you can find Lyman Lube...

I have 2 50 gallon sterilized water drums. Bought them June 1999. Be prepared for everything to go to hell Jan 1st, 2000. Poured in 1 gallon of bleach in each one and filled with filtered tap water. Emptied them a year later. Bit of chlorine tap,...

My Uberti '73 (1987) will not catch the rim to extract the cases. Tried .44 Spl too. The .45 colt case won't fit in any of My 4 .44WCF Rifles or one Revolver. Sized them in My old Lyman dies from the early 1960's. Rem cases sized in that old size...

I tried Glucosamine for a while several years ago. It was expen$ive, and didn't seem to help much. Perhaps I didn't give it enough chance. Now, I have "feeble knees", and perhaps will try a month or three to see if it does help. Thanx for the tip....

I used to counteract moisture 2 ways, first I start with a cold pot filled with cold scrape. I lay the scrap spread out on a tarp in the sun. Cover with 2nd tarp at night. That also allows you to check for weird stuff to reject before it goes into...

I never took a Deer or a Pig with a .357Mag. I shot a Cougar out a tree with one out of a OM .357 Mag Blackhawk. 5 dogs, 3+miles and 16yrs old legs. 1st rd - tree, 2nd rd - tree, 3rd rd - Cat, up thru the ribcage, out thru the shoulder...

The Lee 44-240-2R is a Round Nose. It is "sharp" enough to rest on the primer of the one ahead of it in the magazine tube. Not a good idea. Primer detonation in the mag tube is NO FUN. If you want a good 240gr. N.O.E. Makes a FANTASTIC BULLET the;...

Lots of ways. 1) Adjust seating die/stem to just touch a factory load. Size & expand a dummy case, no powder/primer. Seat one of your cast bullets, no crimp yet. Drop it into the chamber of the bbl of your disassembled pistol. If it plunks, then...

Yo, Burch; There's probably no way to do it wrong. I always figured that my pan boolit lube would be sufficient for lubing the sizing die. I don't think a layer of Alox will pull the lube from its groove, if a "cake cutter" is used, though. A 375...

I used shoot an 1860 Army with 30grs of 3F, a dry lubed felt wad and a .451 Ball. With a Dab of Crisco for the first cylinder. I never had an experience as you describe. I didn't use .454 diameter ball because they were so blasted hard to load, I...

If it's a new Lee mold and you still have the receipt, you can send the mold back to Lee. Tell them It's dropping undersized bullets. If It's used, well you know why it was sold. Their Warranty is only good for 2yrs and you gotta have the receipt....

Get the Lyman #4 Cast Bullet Handbook. It's a great Reference. And it also lists Overall Cartridge Length. Or OAL, that is a good reference (no pun intended) point to start.

I've heard that making whiskey from what ever crops you grew was easier to transport and sell then the grain itself. Grist mills being few and far away in the 18th Century. Supposedly even George Washington did it that way. I would have thought...
