I have been using basic Cabelas model , cost under 100 buck. Mine is twenty years old. I grind moose every year. I think I paid 60 or less. I have thought about expensive Cabelas grinds but I don't use it enough.

I'd try it. I'd still use a black powder lube on them if it were me. I understand that part of the lube's job with black powder is to keep the fouling soft.

Somehow this is the first I've seen this thread. Smoke, glad to see you weathered the storm fairly OK. I want some of this, but I just found 2 unopened pounds in my reloading room. I must have a lifetime supply by now.

The jackets I sold were called red brass have not had any to sell for a good while. I did build a foundry one was oil fired (used motor oil) and it got enough heat to do the job but was messy and I was just doing alum. I am now building one that...

I was at a estate auction a few weeks ago and they sold a lot of the guys reloads and people were buying it up like it was factory ammo. I was asked why I was not bidding and I told them the price was to high to spend the time taking them apart and...

I never got around to pulling my photos from what I recall. Their site became so cumbersome that I just never got around to it. I'll have to look for some of my old threads here and see after 10/10. Sent from my SM-G930V using Tapatalk

On the plus side, this should benefit people looking at old threads that were full of blocked pictures. Still, I don't think I'll be uploading anything new to Photobucket, and I certainly won't be ordering prints or coffee mugs or any of that...

The alloy is a blend of range scrap. It's got a touch of tin and other trace elements, and is of moderate hardness. I could cast them of a harder alloy, but I couldn't see going much softer. I did cast a bunch of 255gr for 45 Colt out of the...

I just got a Lee 405gr mold to start casting for 45/70. I cleaned the mold and broke it in. I was able to get good bullets from it before very long. However, the joy quickly faded when I put the micrometer on them. I'm measuring them at...

The NOE seems to be one of the best, but I don't have one. The Lyman should work just fine as long as you don't have any pressure on the lube screw. Unless you want to put lube in the grooves.
