the throats on the 86's are cut tight and it's common to give them a little hand reaming to get many bullets to fit. my Browning hasn't been cut but I worked around it through mold design.

if they are tin, you could get the metal back like how I use acid solder. I mush it al down in a pot run the pot out back with a 50' cord and plug the pot in and hang out watching it till everything settles down.

putting something like an old saw blade on the coils will even out the heat better. aluminum is softer than steel and you have to take care not to gall the top of the mold, and how you close the mold, slamming it around will tear it up pretty...

I vaguely remember something like that MRP back in maybe the 80's. but I can't recall a good burn rate for it. if it is 4831 type then I'd go with what I wrote above, it's probably not a real good cast powder at lower velocity's.

the ash is carbon and your doing a process called carburization. this helps the alloy bind together better. don't just be jamming the ash down into the alloy or you'll play hell getting it back out. just work the alloy through the ashes picking...

since the 40's, maybe the early 50's anyway. if the epoxy is all dried out find an air spot in a tube and hit it with a torch for about 10 seconds. if it's tin it will start to sweat then crumble and melt quickly.

they meet a pressure window with the powder they get out of the train cars. they order powder by burn rate and it comes close from the powder company. for instance they say send us a trainload of 4895, when it gets there it might be 3031 or 4064...

pit it in some boiling water until the wax melts then turn off the heat and wait for the pot to cool down. get your clean wax off the top, the gunk off the bottom. you can weight some panty hose down with the wax in it and boil it that way too....

it could be the powder too. titegroup will break down powder coating and many plastics. you don't want to leave the stuff in your powder hopper for too long.

the more expensive pots can leak too. my magma pot has an intermittent drip starting after 30 years of use. I'm gonna drain it and clean it out for the first time ever, maybe do a little lap on the rod and seat.

that's more rifle brass than I find in a year. occasionally I get lucky and pick up 8-10 of these or 5-6 of those. 9mm and 40 is generally easy to get, it seems like nobody picks those up.

I see them being made at the bigger trap shoots all the time. they basically make a silicone plug molded right into your ear with the ear buds inside them. something like 20-25 bucks is the price.
