you know that 1440 whatever number? forget it. you could follow the rule or even shoot stuff at 75% of that number, and you'll get the same results your gonna get with some ww alloy or some 3/3 type alloy. I will say a somewhat harder alloy will...

You can place the bullets on something like a nut to raise them up which with me helps getting a even coat top to bottom.

our units are laid out a little weird. our ranges run the same direction as yours does but the valleys are only like 9 miles wide at the most and each mountain range is more like 30-40 as the crow flies. i can scoot through some of the dirt roads...

hand turning a drill bit in a press would cut it out too. 5 minutes with a dowell and some sand paper, some lapping compound, your pocket knife, whatever you got. the worst that could happen is you make it a little too big and have to size it down...

excellent. a lot of guy's don't realize that the cartridge itself becomes part of the maschinery in the lever guns and especially in the 92 types. their length and bullet weight/shape influences how well they feed and at what speed they feed....

9's work for lots of stuff if you have the draw dies. you can pull it all the way down to 30 caliber rifle jackets but it's something like a 5-6 step draw. they make 40 cal bullets in 1-2 steps and no drama. I use the 40 brass to make 44 mag...

Bill. those 311 and 312's are starting to be sought after if they are in good workable shape. the very early 312's are actually very nice guns and were rebranded higher end 'plain janes'

antimony is added to lead to make it flow better under pressure. it is used in window came, pipes, and such that is extruded under pressure. I have never measured the BHN of pure lead after swaging it.

I don't think you even need the 1200 fps, but the harder alloy would sway me in that direction. I would be more inclined to go with the Hornady XTP at about 1,000 fps. simple, easy, get him to the range stuff. oh if he feels bad about it remind...
