RP replied to a thread At the scrap yard. in Lead and Lead Alloys
Another route you guys may want to check into is most scrap yards are not set up to sell to the public but will do a swap. I have made several trips to the yards with a load of scrap and load what I wanted before going back across the scale with...

I know somebody that says that an NOE Spitzer boolit is the only way to fly for 300blk supers. Problem is I can't recall the number. It's a little lighter than the Lee. Maybe the Other Duke in Florida will chime in at some point.

Well it looks like everyone thinks the steel plate would be a great plan I see if McMaster has it in stock. Country Gent I did not think of the weight on the threads but that is a good point if mine fail that will be the next style of threads I...

Gents: What I do have is a the same style mould to handle screw RCBS used to use on their moulds. Allen head set screws, machined as shown in the pic. Thread is 10 x 32 tpi x 0.560 long, the rest is 0.150" diameter x 0.690" in length. RRR

Well I swapped out my chucks today and the pipe trick worked like a charm thanks for that tip. I took the day off and spent it in the shop turning out parts for my leveling jacks. One more piece to turn and then to drill the holes in the jacks so I...

That's pretty cool. What boolit is that, an older Lyman design? I should have a small amount of 5.7 brass around somewhere. I'll try to remember you if I find it anytime soon.

correct Tomme. I don't think people pay enough attention to the wall angle of their lube grooves when they have a mold cut. they also have a tendency to put too much lube groove in them. especially a single groove boolit.

kept at target velocity levels it is a fine powder. I have good luck with it in the 45 colt for cowboy type stuff, the 41 mag for short range bunny bustin, and probably everything mentioned above. the place where it really excels is in large...

it will burn dirty. I would be concerned if it cleaned up because your starting to push 45+K at that point. if you can get the powder up near the base of the bullet I think you might end up with a decent BP type load. I know 4831 will shoot...

the original lube groove for the XCB was just that one groove it was never supposed to be a large one. the idea was to give about 68-% drive band length after set back from firing. the area above the gas check was also supposed to be a bit taller...

Remington has been putting throat in their barrels more like marlins old lever guns than anything approaching saami specs. if you had a true saami spec throat the rcbs 30-165 silhouette bullet with 17-18grs of 2400 is real hard to beat if you...
