Spoke with someone from Hornady today. The serial number shows the ammo is 5 years old. It was purchased from a sporting goods store. I have a call tag to send ammo to Hornady and the rifle to Remington. Sent from my Pixel 3 XL using Tapatalk

All good points! I had already fired off an email to Hornady when I got home last night, and taken a few dozen pictures of the brass, bolt, box, other 2 fired shells, etc. I just always appreciate how everyone here puts in things that I seem to...

It's definitely a 243 Win (I can make out the headstamp under harsh light mostly). It was 3" high at 300 yards compared to the previous shots. Sent from my Pixel 3 XL using Tapatalk

Took my sons out shooting today. Had finished with some new loads for the oldest's 300WSM and started on my 11 years old's Model 7 243. He wanted to try some new Hornady factory shells that he'd bought - 95 grain SST. The first 2 were dead on,...

Did you ever chamber cast yours? I sent my 94 in 45 LC back twice, then finally took my money back. The muzzle blast/spray was bad enough to put a permanent black pattern on my shooting bench. Always wished I had cast the chamber. Sent from my...

Outpost has it right!! 10's of thousands in fun switch mode- same bullet, same random fast burning powder. Although I do have to say that a 1921 shaves lead like crazy in the feed ramp, but I've never had the heart to modify it. Sent from my...

Yes, I too converted 30 carbine brass to 7.65 French Longue. I haven't ever made short cases longer either - but I know it is done! Sent from my Pixel 3 XL using Tapatalk

Not sure it's the right way, but I pry the closed magazine up with a wide chisel then tap the magazine until it starts off of the hinge. Sent from my Pixel 3 XL using Tapatalk

Hey there, I see this come up frequently - and please don't take offense to the question - but why do you want to reform brass for this cartridge when so much cheap / readily obtainable brass is available? I don't know if I have gotten less than 10...

https://1858remington.com/index.php?topic=11283.0 This website has a pretty good tutorial on it - guessing they stole it from the same source as I did (I've been doing it this way for quite some time now in 41 and 38 Colt as well as 44 American)....

I took a pair of electrical pliers and drilled a hole the size of the crimped area (after measuring some antique examples). Load as usual, then crimp with the pliers. I rotate the cartridge a few times while crimping. (I stole this idea from...

I have a plastic boot type scabbard on the fender of a little open cab tractor. I attached it with molly screws and U bolts. While mine is supposed to be waterproof, I found that not to be the case - so I drilled several small holes in the bottom...

I have loaded thousands of rounds of lead bullets with a regular Lee 2 die set (3 I guess if you count the Lee FCD). I do crumple one out of every 100 or so, but I notice that is generally on cases that are nearing the end of their useful lifespan....
