It is an antique thread and so is the AA press but it and the Dillon 550b are my two favorite presses. Now days your lucky if you can find an AA for under$125. I have two of the TL Jrs but don't use them.

I always start the boolit in the h die by pushing the I die down just a bit with the top punch. If the boolit won't start in the H die I fix that with a tapered reamer so it will start. Most of my factory H dies have already been tapered slightly...

I have about quit even looking in Cabelas lately. Even their stuff on sale is still more expensive than Walmart or online. It's 65 miles to the nearest Cabeles and I will wait a few days for amazon prime to bring stuff to my door before making a 130...

45-70 Chevroner replied to a thread Barn Tin? in Cast Boolits
The name tin can came from the process of tining the seams of sheet metal used to make cans, so there is a little tin (Sn) on a can but not worth messing with.

If you are not walking much, the white military (mickey mouse also called bunny boots by many) are good to -50. I once waded in about a foot of over flow to help a buddy get his snow machine unstuck. It was about -35 and my boots filled with water....

Bi-Mart is a store like Costco located mostly in the western states. They also have powder cheaper than most any other place I have seen.

I have been using 7.0grs of Unique behind a 240 grain cast bullet for many years in my Model 29.. That is almost right on spec as a 44 special substitute using 44 Mag cases. I feel the same as Walks 6.3gr is a little to light you may end up with...

I also make my own m type neck expander/flaring tools. I use 1/2" fine thread bolts turned to fit as needed inside a piece of drilled and threaded 7/8x14 all thread.

I use the Sinclair primer pocket uniformers. They are carbide so should last forever. They work by hand, with a hand drill or on the lathe. Once a case has been uniformed, they work easily by hand with a single twist for pocket cleaning. They are...

I don't bell the mouth on 25/20. I just open the neck with the bottom part of the m die but I do champer the inside of the neck more than usual with the lyman long taper tool.

For pistol I prime on the 550b. For rifle I prime on a Lyman AA by hand placing a primer in the primer punch cup. I takes almost no extra time as I dump a box of primers on the primer flipper and then insert them on the primer punch as the ram goes...

I had a bunch of 38spl that would do that. They had been in a bucket with some water for a while and I think that it had some reaction that caused the primers to really stick. Those I threw away but I probably wouldn't do that with 32 Longs.

I tried the hydraulic method on some crimped in 8mm mauser brass and all it did was expand the upper half of the case a bunch and get me wet. I use shotgun primers which is easy to convert.

I have about a dozen presses. The AA is second only to my Dillon 550b. I like the AA better for working up loads.
