I like the .45 but if you're going to buy a nostalgic or classic firearm i'd stick to the original calibers so I'd go with 44-40 myself. It's the classic rifle/caliber combination. They never sold the originals in .45LC.

I already own a half dozen Win/Miroku's in 1873, 92's and 94's and i am very pleased with all of them. I just ordered another one. This time it's an 1873 24" Octagonal Barrel with pistol grip in 44-40. I have a Model 92 in 44-40 already and...

I use a 10-32 tap on mine. That size screw is also popular in radio control planes so you can often find a tap at a hobby shop (Dubro is one brand i've used a lot).

Both brands will work in the LAMII but my experience is that in some calibers with the Lyman you don't need to push the boolit as deep into the die as you do with RCBS dies. In order to get them to work i had to remove the locking nut from the depth...

I did some more with the Translucent Copper today. These are RCBS 340gn 45-70 Boolits. It's a hard color to photograph. The color is still a bit splotchy but it's better than my first try.

Mine arrived all the way over here in Australia this morning, thanks Smoke. I did some .44 cal bullets tonight and they came out ok. The color is a bit splotchy in places but the overall coverage is as good as i get with the clear They do look...

I have an Accurate Molds 38-275H which i really like. It's a bore rider style with a crimp groove and the section behind the crimp is just the right length so that the gas check is sitting flush with the base of the neck.

I put Skinner front blade sites on all my rifles. I have 6 Miroku Made Winchesters in my safe. 3 x 94's, 2 x 92's and a 73. I love them all. They all get Skinner Front blades. Rear sights are a mix of Skinners, Marbles BullsEye, Marbles Tang and...

I have just uploaded a video comparing the T7 and Lyman All-American 8 side by side. Go easy on me. It's the first time i've ever been in front of a camera or posted a video online.

That's interesting. The 315gn that i'm using and the .460-350 you are using both have identical noses. I can chamber them when crimped in the groove but there are marks from being jammed into the rifling. I hope mine shoot as well.

A bit of an update (Frid). Everything fell into place this week. My new mold from NOE arrived on Tuesday morning and my paperwork came later that day so i was able to pickup the rifle on Wednesday. I cast some boolits (NOE .460-315-RF), coated...

I went through the same thought process a few months ago and swapped a single stage for a turret but now have gone full circle and back to a single stage. If you load for more than 2 or 3 calibers the turret head gets filled to max capacity which...

I was asked via PM for clarification of my comments above. The lyman comes with the auto priming system and that is the only way to prime on the press as there is no alternative single priming bar like there is on a Redding or Rockchucker. The...

Could be someone has used 30-30 brass to make 38-55, 32-40 or maybe even .375 Winchester.

I have the American 8 and i'm reasonably happy with it. I'd rate it 3.5* The press itself is sturdy and slop free. The handle is longer than a Redding T7 and swings over more of an arc so if you're loading a lot of pistol ammo the long throw...

Pete, i've had bad performance from the ADI pistol powders of late. They don't seem to be reaching expected velocities and i get lots of unburnt powder. I'm starting to suspect something is not right. Maybe your's is from the same batch as mine....

I bought one from Buffalo Arms as per the link above in barkerwc's post. The boolits came out at .4315 so i used a .433 flex hone to open it out slightly to .432 and it works fine.
