    I usually just set a cold ladle to float on top of the melted alloy for a while just to be safe. I have scooped some with a cool damp ladle and it would do a Clasic thump, thump, kinda reminds you to watch out.

    It’s very easy to get distracted, just having a visitor in reloading room will distract you. I like powder checkers for back up for looking with plenty of light on the subject.

    I always push slug from chamber to muzzle but you might have a barrel that you cant or don’t want to take apart To do that way so either way would be acceptable.

    May try the lawn mower method, I think I have old portable radio in shop. Just will need batteries and try to get some noise out of it. If can get within a couple feet then will break out manual shovel, to hot today to do many test digs. Will be 94’...

    Tried the tone generator this morning and it will sound off anywhere near the exposed wire but 3’ down the run under 12’’ of dirt nothing.

    Wow, just cant imagine a 2oz trigger. The trigger on my Thompson contender is right at 2# and to me that is almost too light. You must be very carful with 2oz.

    Inventoried my ingot pile last night. Been casting for .45 ACP, moved down in stock. Went from a metric ton to regular ton. Gonna have to start hitting the trail of local tire stores, and scrap yards.

    Power came back on Saturday at 9:00 pm. Most of parish still out by 72%. Ran 3 days straight on generator, shut down every 24hrs and checked oil level, only have 400 hours run time on this unit. It starts every week and runs test for 12 minutes....
