    I think you'd be fine if you can keep them in the vitals. Even at 1000fps, you're going to put a BIG hole in a deer.

    That's some impressive shooting. 1/4 minute isn't out of the question for a good benchrest gun. I'd like to see a 5 or 10 shot group to confirm, but even 2 shots into 5 inches at 1800 yards is an impressive feat! Wish I hade the machinery to...

    it's easy to get carried away with magnumitis. Moderate loads just plain shoot better. I'd bet money that a hardcast .690 round ball would shoot clean through any critter in the continental U.S at 1200 fps. Big hairy loads are great for hunting...
