It's for my Ruger 77/357 and I want to get around 1700 - 1800 fps with it. From what I read, 1400 - 1600 fps is about the limit for plain base bullets.

I'd buy this one in a heartbeat if it accepted gas checks. Any idea how fast it can be driven with some accuracy?

I'm using the standard Lee four die set for 38/.357 Magnum. Thank you all! OK, I get that you have to resize to get neck tension, then flare the case mouth to accept the cast boolit (or any bullet), and I apologize for the obvious "duh"...

I chronographed ten rounds yesterday, four (forgot to record the 5th) @ 15.4 and five @ 15.5 grains of 296 with the rest of the components the same as in my earlier post. The 15.5 grain load averaged 1667 fps and the 15.4 grain load averaged 1683...

After reading about neck tension in the archives, I ordered a Lyman "M" die for .357 Magnum and have a couple of questions: Are the plugs that come with the die usually enough to accommodate cast bullets as-is (I'm guessing a couple of...

I have a Ruger 77/357 stainless/synthetic that keeps climbing out of my 15" BullsBag (the one that has the Tuff-Tec synthetic material, not suede; filled with sand). I use a reflex sight on it, so I can't use my left hand to press down on the...

The blue on Mr. Walker's 700 is beautiful and has the look I want to get on a rifle. I was wondering how to apply formula and card the inside surfaces: inside the receiver, down in sear slots, bolt release areas and inside threads such as guard...

Thank you. I've been going through the forum gradually (there is an awful lot of information in it!), got Veral's book and am reading it it as well as Cast Bullets for Beginners and Experts 3rd edition. I'm going to order an LBT mold as soon as I...

Is there a standard or rule of thumb for determining stock pitch for bolt action hunting rifles? In my case, for offhand and sitting shooting; not concerned about prone. Gil Sengel's article in Rifle #246 held that "...virtually everyone is best fit...

I was wondering if anyone has experimented with varying sizing and hardness? If so, is there any correlation, for example: '0.001" oversize (over groove diameter) works best with harder/softer alloy' ? I realize that there are many ways these...

Thanks. If I substitute a higher brisance primer for a given load, and I get more velocity out of that load, would I be correct in thinking that pressure had increased?

I was wondering if there is a reference to what I will call "the strength or power of" (since I don't know whether that is brisance or something else) primers that would indicate which would increase pressure significantly? As an example, let's...
