    Never heard of rounding the chamber edge so cases dont hang on the transition between bullet and neck?...What were these guys doing last week...flipping burgers.?........or maybe just on the car service window?

    I caused a couple of tiny ring bulges in my chamber using wads on top of fast powder......only took about 100 rounds ,when I noticed extraction effort was way up.........I lapped the chamber with (a) a 30-30 case ,split to remove the neck base...

    What a lot of complex waffle......simple to pin gauge the bore ,then slug and measure any diameter.....this will be the pin diameter plus one groove depth......deduct pin from diameter gives groove depth,which can be assumed regular....Question is...

    If the piece has any weld filled holes ,these can turn out all sorts of colours ,bright pink blending into green is my favorite......The colours are of course light refracted by the thin layer of oxide ,for the most spectacular blue by this effect...

    My experience of nitre bluing ,or any other heat oxidation,its very thin,and wears away quite rapidly if the gun is handled........but lovely colours for a glass case piece.

    Another option is photo etching.If you only need lines ,then you could easily etch it yourself....Of course ,any engraver ,including a beginner could chisel some graduations .

    That is a very rapid twist for a 357.....basically,it will stabilize any bullet you would care to use....Not very ideal for blackpowder ,tho.
