Only 1911 I had was a double stacked para ordanance and its kind of a stretch to call that a 1911. It did shoot and I allways wondered why 40s didn't catch on in 1911s when 9mms did. I think you got yourself a very cool 1911.

I actually got it from a shooter I competed with that I respected very much. Someone whos been there and done that and doesn't just own the t shirt. Now he may have got it there I don't know. But I do know a lot of very experienced people who have...

I did one like that once too. If it tasted near as good as they look id be shooting 20 a year. Truth was the one I cooked was so tough (other then the breast) that you couldn't eat it. Skin wasn't really eatable either. For the most part a waste of...

I agree with you on the bacon. It tastes a heck of a lot better fried crispy and on top then mixed in raw. I made some venison burger last summer with 10 percent bacon for fat and the wife (who is obsessed with bacon) wouldn't eat it. She said it...

varnish in a tank can be tough to get out. We had a motor cycle tank that was on a bike we found in the woods and were restoring. It was BAD! What we did was dump a whole can of sea foam and filled the tank with mineral spirits and let it soak for...

your a shooter so im sure youll do fine with it. Most of this kind of bs comes from people who don't shoot. Lots of people with NO experience buy glocks. why? Because there reliable and cheap and very few bad words are said about them. Then when...

when I first started shooting glocks I had the same trouble as you. Now its just the opposite. Im so used to shooting them that a 1911 doesn't point for me. Its all in what you practice with. Or what you learned with. Ive had cops that shot glocks...

I run all once fired brass through a bulge buster before loading it and then like taterhead said load them to sane velocitys (maybe one grain under max book loads) and you wont get a bulge. At least I don't in any 40 I own and that includes 4...

ive had a couple of them and they have held up fine and seem to have decent optics. Another favorite of mine too is the vx 1x4 leupolds. prices today make buying a fixed power scope not make sense. Variables are just as cheap and because they sell...

I think you've got it backwards. For those light loads and subsonic loads you want all the gas you can get so a standard wide open gas block (non adjustable) is perfect. Its when you start cranking up the pressures that an adjustable gas block can...

green pressure treated posts are the way to go. We set HUNDREDS of power poles treated like that and never had a single one rot. Reason is the treatement is a chemical mixed with water pressured into the wood. I wouldn't tar them or encase them in...

ive got 2 ar15 300 pistols and one 16 inch rifle and all three of them shoot the rcbs 130 spitzer gas check real well. 2 inch or better groups at a 100 yards out of the rifle and the pistols with redots will do the same at 50. I cast them out of...

what I found in the hornet is that primers are more critical then in about any other cartridge. Probably because of the small case. What I had hands down the best luck with in primers in my hornets was cci match small pistol primers and Remington...

they might surprise you. I shot ppc for years with a clark/smith 10. For grins one day I loaded up some 115 rcbs 9mm round noses with 2.5 grains of bullseye to plink with and found they outshot my comp load. They were sized to .357 and conventionaly...

yup the trick to it is to use your brain. If your shooting a gun you know leads up fire a jacketed bullet every 10 or 20 rounds to keep it clean. You don't wait till the rifling is full and its dripping out the end of the barrel. Bottom line is if a...
