I don't think I dumped a full pound, but I filled up an old lb container at least 3/4 full from an 8 lb keg and at the end of the session, it was almost empty again. Did have a fun day though. I shot about 100 .308s and 40 or so of my 45-70s.

Excellent article edp2k! RANGE REPORT: Went out to the range where the long range target is 870. I was able to hit a 1' plate at 400 yards pretty consistently and I hit a chicken at 400 yards that was probably the size of an actual chicken...

Going to the range tomorrow. After that I need to do a major cast session. I need 44's and 40's in a big way. I think it's gonna be a 30-40 pounder kind of session.

Loaded 100 308 rounds and made this "Box of pain": EDIT: One thing I noticed today is that a pound of Varget goes really quickly when you are dumping 40 or 50 grains at a time.

With this rifle, I went with Skinner sights. They are on at 100 yards. No scope but with irons, I can generally hit in the 3-400 yard range with some of my other rifles.

I'm going to go out to the long range this weekend and I am going to bring my Marlin 1895. Last time I took my Henry in 44 Mag. I was able to hit 400 yards just fine, but I could not take it out to 600 yards... My 44 mag rounds are 240...

Broke out the Lyman case express my wife got me for my birthday and cleaned up 100 308 cases and 100 45-70 cases. Then primed them. Accidentally dropped one primer and *poof* it was gone. Probably will find it by stepping on it just right (POW). ...

Decapped, resized, trimmed 100 308 cases... I started using the Lyman trim tool with a cordless drill... That thing makes it go FAST. I like it.

I load a 30 cal 90 grain boolit in my CZ52 under some W296... It is obnoxious as hell with the flash and bang - kind of the opposite of silent. BUT I was thinking of loading them in .308 - I bet they can be quiet there...

I shoot full house 44 magnum in my Henry and it doesn't have a lot of recoil. Only thing I notice when shooting it is that it can make the screws walk out, so I make sure to go through and tighten them when cleaning. My load is 23.5 grain...

I wouldn't cut a boolit... Seems like it would do a lot of bad things. One would be expose you to lead dust and another would be suspect accuracy... It's probably better to seat it deeper or get a different mold.

Walks, this all started because I was looking for load data in a little gun I have - the CZ52 that shoots a 7.62x25 Tokarev round. I found that someone suggested that AA #7 was pretty much what you want for loading it. About the same time, I...

Whelp, it looks like it was a $25 boolit. I bought a new ground screen for $25 and should get it soon. Once I get it, I'll continue the experiment - and will be a little more careful.

+1 for NOE -their molds are great and they've got some hollow point designs. +1 for accurate - if they don't have what you want they will make it and get it to you quickly.

Well everything was going great until this happened: Hopefully, I can get a new one... My boolit is the Accurate 43-240-AG. Gas Checked and powder coated. Anyway, before the carnage, I tested my W296 load 23.5 grn(3 rounds): 1439, 1436,...

PC does not burn easily. Just try throwing a few rejected PC'd boolits in the melt. ;) Also, this was a 44 mag round I found a gas check for. Load is Accurate 43-240-AG GC'd and PC'd under 23.5 grain of W296.
