Why are people always looking to make rifle rounds subsonic??? You have the barrel length and the charge... Why would you go subsonic???

I ran a skinner sight on my 1895 for a long time and I was able to shoot out to about 400 yards on Texas windage. But I got a montana vintage tang sight and I've been able to reach out to 625 - pretty sure I can get it out to 1000...

It is either not enough bell for the boolit or your seating die is set to crimp too much. It is tricky to get your seating die to not crimp but just smooth out the case. Then crimp in a seperate step. When I setup a new die, I watch for these...

Well... I didn't get any #s today... My stupid chrono is a *** - at least some of the times. I did shoot some and my max load W296 loads were showing signs of high pressure (24 grn w296 with the Accurate 36-180LG) but the accuracy was good. ...

CW - funny enough I bought a shotshell loader the other day and got a nice keg of Herco -- since it seemed like a good powder (that was available) for shotshells... Maybe I'll see what these 180s do under it... Tomorrow I get to test those...

I watch Ebay and whenever I see linotype below about $2 a lb, I snag it. That score was 60 lbs for around $90 shipped. :) It's got ink and all kinds of scuzz on it, so it takes a bit of fluxing. In a couple weeks, I'll sacrifice one of those nice...

With these, I cast 'em with 4:1 ww to lino so they're hard. The lino I'm using at this point is letters and they clink. They dross a lot of junk, but it's good hard lino. I usually wait at least a couple weeks to shoot a boolit after casting. ...

I've got the same boolit, but they are pretty fresh cast/PC. So it's gonna be a couple weeks before I shoot 'em. I went with blue though - and I had Tom make my mold without the lube groves.
