Should do just fine, as long as they plunk. That is the classic 45 target boolit design.

brewer12345 replied to a thread 45 acp cast loads in Cast Boolits
Yeah, there is a big difference between plinking and loads where every single shot matters. I shoot lots of HG68 clone over 4.5 grains of bullseye. I powder coat and just make sure it plunks. More than adequate for keeping me up to snuff at the...

My only experience is with jacketed 35 Rem factory ammo. at 75 and 90 yards the pigs went nowhere after impact. I'd guess the load you have in mind will work without a fuss, but you shoot a pig in a different spot than you would a deer. Suggest...

I have only skinned (once, hoping to do a pig hunt again in the next year). How does scald and scrape work? My buddy and I split the odd pig from a 4H kid or local small farmer, but the butcher does everything.

How do you kill the pig? Bullet through the brain? After butchering some small wild hogs, it doesn't seem like cutting up a domesticated hog would be that difficult.

Yes,I am happy to go with the buckshot, but I have a bee in my bonnet about not being more exposed to the vagaries of supply and demand any more than necessary. Maybe I will just pick up a Lee 2 banger as an insurance policy and leave it at that.

I will not eat the liver, but dad loves it. I save it for him and so do my hunting buddies. Hearrts are great. Save them from small game and birds in addition to the deer.

I will soon start shooting 32 rifles and I like to have a mold for everything I shoot. I bought a bunch of swaged 1 1/2 buckshot from Ballistic Products to get started shooting, but I will still want a mold. In .310/.311 it seems there are not a...

Just about any RNFP should work well. Lyman 358665 is a pretty nice one. I also shoot an arsenal mold "138 max" that drops a 133 grain RNFP that shoots very, very accurately. I imagine the Lee 125 grain RNFP would also shoot pretty well. If we...

30-06. Anything you can do, I can do better... 30-06 can go pretty low. I have lots of fun with a lee soup can over 12 grains of Unique. Haven't tried anything lighter, but I imagine it would not bee hard. On the other end of the spectrum I...

So if you grease the gun with a lubed patch after cleaning and then run a dry patch, you avoid the first shot variance? Very interesting.

Nice shooting. I have done similar with cast in a 357 lever using 38 special standard pressure loads. They seem pretty forgiving since the boolits aren't hitting game fast enough to blow them up or cause expansion, so they just drill a 36...

Try with and without a wad or card. My tc rifles both wanted a wad to shoot conicals, the 54 showed much improved prb groups with a wad. Other rifles don't seem to need them.

Yeah, I am using a 133 grain RNFP with 4.4 grains of HP38. Tight little groups at 25 yards and essentially no recoil.

I cast and shoot buckets of the 200 grain SWC. Have to be careful of seating depth, but it is very accurate with light loads (4.5 grains of bullseye) and full power loads (7 grains of Unique). The mold absolutely spews boolits, so I have it handy...

I am lazy so I just buy wonder wads, which are lubed. They are made out of wool. If the REAL does not pan out, I would try a maxi ball and a Hornady Great plains bullet. The REALs shot ok out my 1 in 48 50 cal, but the maxi ball was really good...

They shot well in my 54 Grey Hawk with 1 in 48 rifling. I only got accuracy from them with an over powder wad, but it was good enough for me to be willing to take 100 yard shots on game.
