    that is about how i did my first swage system, with my arbor press. what i did was turned a step on the swage punch where i slid a collar that bottomed out on the step and would bottom out on the die as a stop so all my bullets came out the same.....

    if you had access to the shorter actions like the M48 that would be better choice.. i converted a 98 action a while back to .308 and even those cartridges had problems feeding and ejecting due to being shorter. the next 2 i did was on the m48...

    wow.. looked up .318 bullets for the Mauser 8x57-j and some are almost a dollar a bullet (upwards of $0.80 a bullet). rare as hens teeth also and all the ones i found was round nose.. i could do a die set and make hollow points or soft points...

    yea.. about the only way i know of that you can harden brass, copper, or bronze is by work hardening it. that is how they did the old Roman bronze swords, they would cast them close to shape and then hammer the rest of the way which would work...

    i finally made me a die to make .323 bullets for my Hakim and 8mm Mauser.. finished up the reamer today and went ahead and made the die and heat treated it.. i used a die that did not turn out like it should have for the .308 so i was not wasting...
