Railroad spikes are designed to bend not break. The material spec. Is "not more than .30 % carbon" and that is the "high carbon" spike. The standard spike is .12 % carbon, typical of mild steel. They contain good amount of copper but nothing that...

Anyone ever try the lightweight filler for sheetrock paint prep? I have played with the Lyman 20ga and found I needed some type filler to keep the wad from " sticking" inside. Haven't revisited the project in years but the possibility of an NOE 16...

Something wierd there, I am used to the stampings " matching" on factory marks. Something odd about the barrel to me, guess it's just the shortened barrel. I see it closed with a reserve above 505$, more than I would gine cor a project. Been...

"How to turn a 2000$ gun into a 200$ gun in 3 stoopid steps" I suspect this idea came up after dirty harry made 29s the thing to have. Too bad, but it makes the others worth more....( I am working on being an optimist)

Placement is absolute #1, then I want an exit hole and then if there is expansion then that's gravy. There are times when a well placed shot may fail to penetrate, to lightly constructed bullet or brittle hp, yielding only shallow damage. A friends...

Forgot about the Speedmaster, nice rifles and any one of them I've shot was accurate and reliable. Feels like a "real" rifle too. Now that 617, yeah good choice. I have a 4 inch nodash and it's a keeper. Beware they will leadup with some of the...

Do NOT worry about expansion of large diameter cast bullets..worry about the diameter of the meplat...You will not likely get much expansion with any cast bullet at 1000 ft/sec velocities so you cannot make a bullet too hard unless you need to swell...

Wish that were the case here. For me the 200$ tax stamp added to the cost means I am going to go "top drawer" when I buy one. I am glad to hear that an ultrasonic cleaner may take care of the fowling. Wondered about that.

I second Outpost's suggestion of used guns. I have a Marlin y0, they are generally accurate, Marlin made good barrels. The tube fed has lots more parts than a bos mag. If a M60 has feed problems, could be a while to figure out. If a 10-22 has feed...

You will like that setup, my grooved 69a wears a Lyman Alaskan, seemed fitting. The 69 is an awesome gun as well, tiny compared to the 69a.

That is not the kind of load I would expect to cause problems! I have a 696 with skinnerier barrel extension and have have had no issue with Skeeter type loads, maybe a fluke. Sorry you got a bad one, really hope I didn't!

As far as I can tell the chambers are as long as ever, maybe longer. I set one barrel back by .092 and put a shim in the clamp dovetail. That reduced the groups by 50%! Rounds eject but are lightly engraved. I do not shoot stingers or other long...
