The utter stupidity continues ! The Browning and modern Winchester High Walls are chambered in high intensity (60,000 psi) cartridges but are gonna blow up with any published 45-70 load. Is anyone that dumb ? Yes I guess so reading the posts...

Reading primers is like reading tea leaves. A CURRENT load book and a Chronograph will tell you what is going on better than anything but a pressure barrel.

You can hate PayPal's stance on guns (also EBay) but both are in CA ..... any ?s I use PP all the time because it works. Whining about PP while typing on you Windows/MAC computer is IMHO kinda stupid. (I hope I don't have to explain that...

Still going ???? I fotgot to mention that this guy Mike at Hodgden either: 1. Misquoted OR 2. DNS about Modern Winchester High Walls. I'd tend to believe the former until I see a letter on Hodgen LH, written and signed by him.

Rechambered rimfires is why Sierra still makes .223 bullets. The first 22 Hornet was built on a M-1 22 rimfire Springfield by the "four Ws". Cast boolits will work just fine.

Uh ...... NO!!!! "Your high wall action, modern made..." An Uberti is "modern made" as is not made to stand up to 50-60K cartridges. ONLY the Winchester and Browning are. I have said this AT LEAST THREE TIMES, but Gump was 100% correct....

There are TWO Hodgdon "modern" 45-70 loads that reach 50K cup. Both are 4198 and are teeth rattlers (I've shot them in a No.3 !) Any Browning or contemporary Winchester High Wall would not break a sweat. Here's what Speer has to say: ...

It's a decent old scope if the lenses are not delaminated. It was the first "budget" scope with an AO. They are easy to work on and clean, just don't break the real crosshairs. IN ANIB condition they will bring $150.00, an average used one $50.00....
