Mine has been a faithful and solid companion in many an adventure. Got mine back around 72 or 73, ran it stock with iron sights for 20 years but then eyes started to age. Dad had a spare Bushnell Banner 4 power deer rifle scope so I brought...

No SS brushes in my house, and the copper ones very rarely get used. Only for extreme cases of leading, And even then I got more lead out faster with ATF and a very tight patch followed by a tight dry patch, repeat as needed. But everyone does...

Screw the powder die in a little more. I use the powder through die on 380 Acp, 9mm and 357 mag. I flare just enough that the bullet can sit inside the flare. The lyman M die and NOE inserts (for the Lee Universal Die) does more than bell the...

I have run unsized .314 90 gr cast bullets through a .30-30. Only thing that tipped me off was it barked louder than I expected. Sized to .3115 or .312 and it was back quiet again. 2-3 thousandths over is what I aim for. Have done as little...

What kind of accuracy are you seeing? I have a 16" rifled .45acp adapter for my .30-30/ 20 ga combo. But really have never gotten it out to play with it. In theory I could test it at my local pistol range. But the rifle range says shotguns and...

What kind of babbit is it? Most of the babbits i see normally mostly tin with antimony and smidge of copper. That might be your problem. You casting a a hard tin bullet and not lead. In mold designed for lead and mostly likely resigned for Lyman #2...

I have powder coated the Lee bullet. It worked just fine like a greased bullet. Have found no gain or loss in paper patched, PC or greased Lee bullet. The all performed the same and accurately. As of ease, it was quicker and easier to just lube...

270 bullet molds are few and far between. I would love to see an LFN profile for a hunting bullet in the 140 to 150 grain. Until the 270 gets a good enough following and one of the bullet design gurus makes us a design and we do a group buy we are...

Most anything labeled Cerro is a low melt temp (as in around 200*F) Bismuth alloy. Sometimes has other things like Lead, Tin, Gallium and/or Lead. A quick test would be to see how quickly and easily it melts. If it melts around 200 degrees you...

" upon completion will have an entirely new look for a few days. " Only a few days? Then it is going to revert back? Or only if there is massive protest? Sounds pretty suspicious to me. Run a ladder test on that load and show me the...

How hard are you going to push them? When I first started reading here one of the first gems I found was a general rule for gas checks. Over 1400 fps use a check. You'll get better results most of the time. I also think that over 1400 you need...

There are jigs you can buy to trim the .223/5.56 brass with a harbor freight chop saw. It cuts off around the shoulder area. Then hit it with a sizer die to form a neck amd shoulder. Anneal and fire form. Thats about it. Sent from my SM-G950U...

Currently running 4.5 gr under a cast 230 gr truncated cone with a nice big meplat. Tried 4 grains but the cases came back sooted up half their length, so kicked it up a notch and they stay cleaner.

10 to 13 grains of Red Dot will work. In my Handi rifle sighting in I got cloverleafs at 25, 50 and 75 yards. I pulled one a half inch up and left at 100. Operator error. One of the most accurate loads I have in any rifle/caliber combination. ...

This site is good, no question about it. But Ublock Origin and Privacy Badger makes other sites behave better also. I do get asked to turn off my blockers a lot, seldom do I do so. Very seldom.
