I believe I have a massive predator problem. I normally see three or more raccoon every night bow hunting. In the last 15 years I’ll see coyotes pretty often as well. I’ve arrowed a good half dozen Yotes while bow hunting. I did some research and in...

That’s exactly what I did back in 2000’. I called three ranchers and were offered all three places to hunt at no charge. The property owner where I shot mine told me the next year if I come back it would cost all of $50 to hunt his property. I...

Folks, I have a good friend who is looking for a heavy-barrel S&W Model 10, "No dash". I know this is a long shot, but worth a try. If you would, shoot me a PM and I'll be happy to pass along to him. His father had one that got lost in the...

Rusty - These are made in two versions - the traditional round ball model with a 1:60 twist and a Great Plains Hunter made with a 1:32 twist. You should be able to put a patch / jag down the barrel and tell what the twist is. A nice looking...

No, My TC Impact has a bore right at about .501". TC has always been very consistent on their bore diameters. I had a 54 caliber New Englander, and it might have been the worst of the bunch with the REAL. That gun had a patch of rust that couldn't...

About the handle, I have very large hands. The APP press handle might be the most comfortable handle I've used. The Rockchucker ball is ok, but I hate roller handles like on my Star sizer.

That's about what clip on wheel weights run. I tried them, and it's not good. The driving bands are too brittle, and chip, rather than form to the rifling. 20:1 alloy made them seat harder than pure lead, but they shot no better.

Bingo. Just about anything is a more realistic threat than a black bear. If you have a 100 to 1 chance of encountering a rabid dog, rather than an ornery black bear, which I think are realistic odds. Are you going to carry the semi auto 9mm with 15...

I tried them anywhere from 40 to 120 grains of blackpowder or Blackhorn 209. Nothing made a big difference, but it seemed around 100 grains was as good as it got.

I would not do anything to it. If it spits lead, it has problems. Send it to Ruger. It's free, and they will have it back in 2-3 weeks.

I can't remember off the top of my head, but I had both the 320 grain 50 caliber and the 380 grain 54 caliber. Both cast the top band to pretty much the same size as what others reported online. I even tried beagling the mold so that they cast about...

Have you tried running the bullets through the sizer dry? Sometimes it works, sometimes it doesn't. I love dip lubing. It is way easier than pan lubing. To cut down on mess, I also like to take a fired case with an ID bigger than the bullet, ever so...

My favorite so far was 3 grains 700x. Most any target powder will work fine. Lots of people like the Lee 90gr SWC, and that would be a good place to start. By pure luck, my 311-93-1r drops at .314", and that is a good choice too. I like to seat such...

My best guess is REALs need a tight bore. 4 of the ones I tried were TC 1:48" twists, one was a TC impact with 1:28" twist, and one an H&R with 1:35" twist. All of them have consistent, and standard sized bores, with shallow grooves. I also tried...

While I'm sure there are some tight bore rifles that will shoot a REAL well, I'm 0-6 on all of the guns I've tried them in. They are consistently the worst shooting. My advice is to not waste your time, go to a maxi ball or great plains bullet.

I never did try loading 32 S&W long brass, so take this with a grain of salt. Mine loves 327 federal, so I load everything in 327 federal brass. There's no reason you can't load light 327 federal loads.
