I really need to make me one of those. I've been using an old piece of pine.

These are looking promising. The base casts at 0.314", and the nose is at .308". I've got about 200 of them cast, so I'll see about powder coating and loading a handful of them tomorrow and see how that goes. I won't be able to shoot until next week...

Look at what showed up today. :D Hopefully it works a little bit better. If not, I have a few other guns that might like it. Sent from my SM-G965U using Tapatalk

Well, you guys have convinced me to at least take a look at the SRH. I'm still not a fan of it's looks, but after watching some reviews about it, I think I could live with that ugly barrel/frame transition. After some research, I think I'd go...

That's what I've heard. After doing some digging, I understand why they did it. Still though, I think I'd have a hard time paying that much money for something I couldn't stand the looks of. After looking, I found that the Super Blackhawk Bisley...

I am not opposed to getting something like a 480 Ruger or a 475 Linebaugh. I have not seen many guns chambered in those rounds though. The only double actions I have seen for the 480 is the Super Redhawk. and the SRH Alaskan. I cannot get over how...

60.9 oz vs 60.7 oz. The 6" 500 is actually a tiny bit lighter than the 460 despite having an inch more of barrel.

I might have the opportunity to go to Alaska later in the year, so I am using it as an excuse... I mean, I see a significant need for getting a bear defense gun. [smilie=1: After looking at a few, I am stuck between two choices. A 5" 460 S&W, and...

Depends what you shoot them with. I've shot one close up with a 9mm. The bullet deflected off the shell and it took off. I got it a couple of days later when it came back. To be fair, I think the shot was more of an angled hit than a dead on...

It was in the right place to crimp into the crimp groove. I loaded 15 rounds with the boolits set to 1.156", and all but 4 fed reliably. I tried seating those 4 deeper (as deep as 1.425"), and it made no difference on those. I'm not sure why...

So I cast some more boolits, and loaded up a couple of dummy rounds. They both fed, but had circular cuts on them near the nose. So I modified a fired case so that the boolit could move with only a little bit of resistance and checked to see...

I can't answer on the mold, though I would suggest looking at some of what NOE and Arsenal has to offer. Find something with a large meplat (flat area on tip of the bullet), but that should still run smoothly in your rifle (I'm assuming you're using...

This is what I was talking about. Shaved might have the wrong word, it's probably more accurate to say sized down. The powdercoat is still on the boolit, just sized down a bit. I played around with the OAL, it made no difference. I'll try some...

I'm having issues getting my 7.62x39 AR to work with cast bullets. The mold I've been using is a LEE C312-155-2R. I am powder coating these boolits, and am also using a gas check. I am seating so that the OAL is 2.20". I originally had them...
