KVO replied to a thread Rounded bands ok? in Cast Boolits
A thought about the above, the rounded bands may not be as detrimental to accuracy with a full wadcutter as I used due to the greater length of bearing surface. I'd emphasize that six shots does NOT constitute sufficient evidence to prove much...

KVO replied to a thread Rounded bands ok? in Cast Boolits
Most of my new NOE molds have the same problem with rounded bands and poor fill out for the first few sessions as described above. Curiosity got the better of me, I tried some with rounded bands but with well filled out bases as you describe. NOE...

Would be a good idea to give the gun a thorough once over for general "gunsmithy" issues, like excessive play in the rear sight/ loose sights, damaged crown. I've seen prone and 3 position shooters go nuts testing different ammo lots, recrowning...

Based on those measurements, your cylinder throats are pretty darn consistent. Sizing larger than .430" will not be of benefit in the cylinder's current configuration. Forget what the sizer is marked, for all intents and purposes it is a .430"...

Let us know how the unsized .431" projectiles vs the sized .430" projectiles fit in all 6 cylinder throats. Do any drop through? Snug fit? Can't push through at all? Any difference between all 6? Also please send a pic of the forcing cone if...

Depends on how much metal you need to remove and tools available. Lathe is the best way, save for that if you only have a few thousandths you could use a split dowel and emory cloth. Spin, clean, measure, repeat. Flared case is your gauge. The Lee...

Agree with country gent, small expander may result in cases swaging boolits undersized. Pull one after seating and mic. If your measurements are correct, .430" should perform if boolits don't drop through the cylinder. If that is correct, consider...

Entry diameter to seating die may be too small, closing flare just enough to scrape while the boolit is aligning. No amount of flare or chamfer would fix this. May need to open up the seating die ID. l've experienced this twice, Lee 380 ACP and RCBS...
