What's diffrent about these gas checks that they won't crimp on? Are they too thin? If you're crimping down to .306 you're below bullet diameter and creating tiny gap potentially allowing gases to bypass gas check. This is just my theory. Sent...

One last thing to check if you have't sent already. close two halves of the mold and look up against the light. Do you see any light seeping through? I had RCBS mold that constantly had flashing in the nose, it was annoying to clean each bullet...

Ok Lee molds and some others have tapered shanks. If you measure most bottom at the base you'll get .284 - .283 and at the top you might get .288 or higher and that's ok, a standard GC should fit. I prefer NOE, it's not tapered and makes it easier...

I'll tell you right now I ordered a sample of 30 caliber .017" gas checks and I had real hard time putting them on. Obviously you also have burrs that are in the way but for my own gas checks I've been using .012 that works great and later I...

Ran in to this recently when making 44 gas checks with my die. The problem as I predicted with my calculations is that .014 was not thick enough. I tried thicker .0156 material and it worked - no spinning on NOE bullet that was cast from hard...

I dont wash. All the dirt and crap will float so why waste the time. It doesnt really save any time to wash. When I was washing it, i didnt wait for it to dry. Fill the stock pot and light the flame. Using a lid really helps lock the heat in and...

As far as I know Lee never made hollow point molds. There is a guy who offered the service to modify molds into hollow point molds. Sent from my SM-G965U using Tapatalk

Range scraps is my base alloy. Just needs a couple healthy doses of a flux that breaks the surface tension to get any trapped debris followed with some witchy brew stirring. If it is berm mining then a cook with some carbon to remove any elements...

I have not emailed them. I have used their on-line replacement parts catalogue though. It was cheap and easy. The 4.00 shipping cost me more than the hand full of replacement parts I ordered. Mostly various primer arm replacements and an assortment...

Maybe you have a bad mold? My spitzer bullets are concentric. Now I had a theory that I actually heard from FortuneCookie45LC on youtube that a thick PC coat can coat the bullet uneven and make it unbalanced and it makes sense to me although I...

ok, I am little desperate :)))) but I needed to to test fit and this worked. I salvaged old CPU heatsink, it measures 15.6 thousands (.0156) thick, punches nicely and most important grips well. I still want to find a source of bigger roll. We...

I do it. Does it help? You would be surprised how inconsistent neck thickness is. It makes me feel good atleast. I won't swear by it because it won't fix an inaccurate rife and/or load. It won't turn a 2 inch group into a clover leaf. But it will...

RCBS dies - I have their 45 ACP that I got in the trade and they are great, loaded 11 boxes of ammo no issues. Purchased 308 dies and noticed how much harder it was to size, I though for sure will get case stuck even though I was using imperial wax...

I tried using .014 Amerimax, but it doesn't stay / crimp because it's too thin. I tried on top powder coat still not satisfied. The bullet shank is .400 + .014 + .014 = .428 and I size to .430 so clearly I need thicker like min. .015 preferably...
