For homemade / Sage gas checks this is normal, It happens to me all the time to me. Push it in with sizing die and take it out with needle nose pliers sideways. Sent from my SM-G950U1 using Tapatalk

My understanding and same thing comes from manufacturer of Barry's copper plated bullets is that you should crimp just enough but not to perforate and compromise the coating. I believe same applies to powder coat, I crimped only to remove the...

One more thing, I noticed you're you got a line that looks like crimp? Are you putting on heavy taper crimp or Lee factory crimp? I believe you should only put a bare crimp on lead bullets to remove flare.

Wow, I learned something. NOE HTC 153gr SP is very accurate with IMR 4198 both in my Ruger 300 blk and 7.62x40WT. I had 4 out of 5 shots at MOA. In limited testing I didn't notice the difference in accuracy with PB gas check and without. I am...

Have you tried the search bar in your right hand top corner? At least on PC its there, if you type in there: "Plain Base Gas Checks" you'll get about dozen hits. I am just saying to be helpful, not trying to be rude or anything. I find this forum...

You guys are very creative but what you really need is proper fitting gas check and lee sizer. No extra seating step required. https://youtu.be/j0dXDFuGPrY Sent from my SM-G950U1 using Tapatalk

At some point I was trying to limit my primers to 1 type so I used S&B rifle primers in my Ruger GP100 for 38 SPL loads because they didn't have any pistol primers in stock and they worked ok, primers were $20/brick at local Cabela's while CCI...

.012" thickness should work nicely. I never tried copper myself because I can't find it local and online it cost as much as factory gas checks. Sent from my SM-G950U1 using Tapatalk

I doubt copper is problem, how thick is it? Measuring sheet metal with calipers is tricky, best done with micrometer. Measure the punch ID with calipers, just the first 1/4" and report. I am working on one right now as I write. I made so many 30...

it's not too big, 13/32 is .406, I use .400 and my gas checks are .070 +/- .003. I measure from inside gas check with calipers end. if you're getting .095" measured inside most likely cause is your punch ID is too small and GC is getting...

I've been thinking about 6.5 Grendel too, but it's not as cast friendly in my opinion as 30 caliber and jacketed / copper plated bullets also not as cheap. For example in .308 I picked up some plinking bullets copper plated for about 11 cents each,...

If you don't care about subsonic, another option to look in to is 300 HAMR or it's predecessor 7.62x40 WT. It's stronger than 300 Blackout and has ballistics of 7.62x39 / Win 30-30 and quite accurate with cast bullets while using regular .223 AR...
