Suggestions above sound great. Just FYI for ease of linseed oil: you wipe a film on, as much as the wood will take, but not any extra. Leave it overnight. repeat again and again for two weeks to build up the finish. That's why it's easy (you can't...

No not there. Seat to middle of front driving band. Do a plunk test, if it doesn't pass, seat to just a smidge below the leading edge of the front driving band. If it doesn't pass the plunk test ? I don't know what to tell ya.

You must have seen the exact same thread on SA that I did, because I bought some blanks too! Took me some time to get around to it, but mine also wound up on a vaquero. I came to the same conclusions you did: soft material, easy to work with. Way...

Ever try a box joint? they are very very handsome and you make the jig yourself. I like them even better than a dovetail joint. Good job. Threads like this make the special projects forum my favorite on this site. You need sand paper and 2...

If take the bbl/slide assembly off a P38 and stick a loaded mag into it you will see that the bullet has a almost straight line feed path. Copied into the Beretta 92 and Desert Eagle. The Truncated Cone was designed for the P-08 Luger. In WW1...

I've shot the H&G 200gr in just about everything. It will feed in an Old Sig 220 that I have and even My Glock 21 with a Wolf aftermarket bbl. The 230gr RN at Factory Level Loads works in everything. For Powder Puff Loads I like the...

Been shooting the Lyman #31141 & #311291 as long as I remember. Cast the #311291 & 311413 from Old Ideal 1cav molds, the #311041, #312284 from "modern" 2cav molds. All shoot well in both my Model 94's (1962 Carbine & 1981Trapper). Both Pointed...

If you're shooting from the bench, you will really appreciate a folded towel or strap-on recoil pad. Try it before you FEEL the need.
