Lyman works great for me. Just keep lead of the face of it. Like away from the lead. Stretch out that curly cable to the probe when you are checking temps. I know from experience. Went to dip out some dross & caught the spoon I use on the mechanism...

At over a half ton of mixed alloys & pure, along with using about 5-6 traps to catch what goes down range, I think I am about done with accumulating. Funny I say that though, I just bought 23 more pounds of Xray room strippings about 4 hours ago,...

finished size through the sizing die .4315 is not bad. Next step is to polish the **** out of the die. start with 600 (wrap it around a dowel and roll in the die 20-30 seconds fashion a cone shape out of the sandpaper and sand the entry for 1 min...

NOE sizing dies are not designed to allow you full cam-over power from your press. What exact mold and sizing die numbers are you using. IF you don't use the alloy specified by NOE you will get boolits of a different size than specified

real curious about this --- Measure a sized boolit and let us know what size the sizer is allowing through ---- could have got a wrong size/miss-marked sizer. I have removed the wood ball from the handle of my "wimpy lee breech lock" and added an...

I just went & measured the one on my press. It uses a 3/32ths allen head wrench, it is .182" in diameter( close to 3/16ths"), and .109 long( just under 1/8th") and has approx. 4 threads per that length. I don't have a T.P.I. gauge in the...

I have never found the exact hardness to be critical, I test just to get close. Some people just drop a ingot on concrete and go by the sound the "thud" makes. It's been a looooooong time since I went to school and I never got into math with...

Try it I don't see why it wouldn't work. George has a valid concern about weight, I'd stay under 50 pounds of alloy

First I'd check the size of a boolit you get through the sizer and see if it's coming out the proper size- you may have gotten a bad sizer You could try polishing the sizer with 600 grit or finer sandpaper or polishing compound .002 isn't a...

I have had lead melted on my coil type hot plate burner before. Without going out to look, & share the rating for watts, it would be my guess that your hot plate should be able to heat up lead to melt temp, like was said by Geo. K. above, If you do...
